You get really competative and spend a fortune. I had already done most of my shopping but bought loads. Like hundreds of pounds worth of stuff.

I got a baby annabell care for me doll for £22, huge box of duplo (there was lego too) for around £20, giant boxes of gulian chocolates for £10 - they were huge, 60 cm square boxes. Oakley sunglasses, ukala boots, masssive knee high leather boots for £50, I could go on and on. It was great!

Mothercare have happyland boot half price to £20.

wiggy the amazon Black Friday link was referring to the uk amazon site. The dates for this year are nov 19 to 25 Nov. I may have to give myself a budget!

Just bought my dd from the Mothercare website, Playmobil police headquarters £39.19 and from the Toysrus website, Playmobil huge playground set £24.00 and Playmobil pyramid £32.00.

Sorry meant ds, I know he's going to love these and for Playmobil prices I think these are a great bargain :)

rhondajean, I haven't heard anymore. It was posted on a deals site by an argos employee who had been looking through the upcoming deals. But she hasn't posted any more about it.

Not sure if that means it is coming in the next few weeks instead or if it isn't happening .

Going on the last few years there has been another voucher deal closer to christmas, so perhaps they are doing it then?

Quick question fellow bargain hunters - what kind of age is Playmobile suitable from? Is HappyLand stuff a kind of precurser to it?

I would say playmobil form 3 - 4 onwards. And yes happyland is for before that. DD had been playing with happyland from about 1 onwards. Properly playing with it now she is 2.

I think happyland will still have good play value untill school age, but intend to start introducing playmobil from 3/3.5 onwards.

Thanks Oreo! DD is 14 months. She doesn't own any HappyLand yet but I've bought her some for Christmas (reduced in ELC, thanks to this thread!). I just wondered whether to get some Playmobil now while there are offers on to put away for her birthday, but I'll wait till next year.

I can easily get carried away with all these bargainous offers!!

Evans Cycles gloves update

Our Altura and Kiddimoto gloves have arrived and are lovely, but the sizing is v different.

Altura medium marked 7-8 years comes up small - should fit my average-sized 4yo DS with decent growing room. The large is marked 10-12 years and will fit 6yo DD with a couple of years growing room.

The Kiddimoto small size is marked 2-5 years but the gloves look the same size as the Altura mediums (ie 7-8 years). They'll be a bit big on 2yo DD but kids only get bigger, don't they?

I am identifying with the MNer who said she's getting parcels she can't remember ordering! I look at my email the morning after I've done a bit of late-night shopping and it's like I've drunk-ordered stuff...

I would wait till 4ish for playmobil, personally. imaginext is really great for 3 plus- my daughter has the submarine which is great! but now I come to think of it the playmobil police car is ace and I think that would be fine for a 3 year old. a lot of the other sets are a bit small and fiddly, the charm being the attention to tiny details.
