farrowandbawl · 11/10/2013 18:32

He's fine love, thanks. Just D&V. No-one else has come down with it so that's something.

I've emailed her today but not heard anything - the tests are due in Monday morning. Arse.

farrowandbawl · 11/10/2013 18:32

Arse in general - not my tutor.

Yummy!!

Humph thought they'd of done 24 different ones Sad

MrsVamos · 11/10/2013 20:35

Evening all.

Those Yankee candles sound lovely. I passed some today and they smelled divine.

Keep persevering, farrow it'll all be worth it.

Found out today eldest has to have 2 braces, one on top set of teeth, one on bottom, to correct a misalignment/bite and straighten. Both sets train tracks too. He's fine with it, luckily !

I can remember having braces and wasn't allowed train tracks as on the NHS they were too expensive ! Braces didn't work for me either, I have 2 little fangs that stick out a bit, and had to go through the pain of having teeth removed too, due to having too small a jaw for them all.

The dentists/orthos seem so much better today than when I was a teenager. The ortho was already impressing on DS the importance of wearing a retainer, after 18 months of braces too !

He's getting the 1st one on the 23rd, I just hope it's not too painful.

Something else to get out of the way before I can concentrate 'properly' on Christmas !

MrsVamos · 11/10/2013 20:36

Passed or past ? Reading that back doesn't sound right.

Anyway, I meant, I went by some Yankee candles. Grin

ChestyCoffin · 11/10/2013 20:50

Passed Grin

I had to have teeth out as mouth not big enough for all teeth I had.

Dentists make me tremble in fear Sad

Think it's quite cool for teenagers to have braces nowadays.

MrsVamos · 11/10/2013 20:59

I thought so, it just didn't look right ! Then it looked like I meant something else. Grin

I don't like the dentist either.

DS isn't bothered, I think he realises better to get them all corrected now rather than perhaps have huge problems when he's older.

The dentist said he has lovely teeth, they just need aligning, which is good, and that if he didn't have braces he would end up with horrible, crossed teeth in about 4 years.

Not the worst thing that could happen, so....hey ho !

And this is my boy who was such a diddy and who wasn't supposed to make it to 14 ! So what's a couple of braces !

ChestyCoffin · 11/10/2013 21:17

Oh gosh, why mrs?

MrsVamos · 11/10/2013 21:40

He was born at 30 weeks, stopped growing at 25 and weighed 650g (1lb 7oz) when he was born.

They never thought he'd make it, for various reasons, he 'died' numerous times, paediatricians told us he would have lots of problems and never be very tall ! 14 years ago they weren't as clued up about premmies as they are now. Smile

He's heading for over 6ft, is very bright, and has not a thing wrong with him, apart from being a teenager !

ChestyCoffin · 11/10/2013 21:54

He must of been so tiny Smile

Proved them all wrong then! You must be very proud.

MrsVamos · 11/10/2013 22:00

He was !

I am proud. Most of the time. Grin Wink

Watching Hollyoaks now. Want some deaths. Grin

LentilAsAnything · 11/10/2013 22:02

MrsV, that's so great he is thriving.

We HE too, though not officially I guess as DS is only just three. :)

I love going to the dentist, I could have that scrape and polish done for hours. Lovely. Grin

giraffeseatpineapples · 12/10/2013 00:16

mrsvamos sounds like he is a real fighter.

Yes to retainers, I didnt wear mine consistently and one of my teeth is very crooked.

chesty it might be better to make up one of your own with the 5 pack christmas sampler any other vaguely christmasy ones such as fireside, salted caramel etc plus you can have it now that way! If chocolate is out candles should def be in Grin

giraffeseatpineapples · 12/10/2013 00:20

lentils Shock @ love of scrape and polish! I do quite like the pink mouth wash though, think its the relief because the rinse signals the ordeal is over. Actually the thing I really hate is those foam things they make you bite on...

LentilAsAnything · 12/10/2013 00:43

Oh yeah, those foamy things are horrid. And those blue sheets. But the scrape and polish - lovely. I prefer it to going to the hairdressers. :)

ChestyCoffin · 12/10/2013 10:36

Argh stop it with the dentist tortute

girrafe I am the most uncrafty person you'll ever meet, so making my own may be out Grin

giraffeseatpineapples · 12/10/2013 19:58

ChestyCoffin · 12/10/2013 20:16
