Roses or Quality Street?

Whats your preference ladies. When i was a kid it was always a big jar of Roses my mum used to buy. My naughty bro and myself worked out a way of gently twisting and easing the lid off without breaking the seal so we could nick the odd purple one out of it before christmas.
Anyhow what do you prefer,Roses or Quality Street? Im trying to decide which to get this year. My preference is usually Roses but in later years ive had Celebrations and Heroes at xmas.
DH used to prefer Quality Street but then they removed the Peanut Cracknel and ever since he wont eat them on principle.
I didnt try the Lindor choccie truffeles until Easter this year and they are lush but they are TOO nice so i would end up eating too many. So if you absolutely HAD to choose would it be Roses or Quality Street for you.

Quality Street for me. But if someone were to give me a gigantic slab of Cadbury's Dairy Milk it would be very gratefully received.

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 20/11/2011 19:25

Roses :) yum yum!

Dawnywoo · 20/11/2011 19:26

Quality Street are heavier in weight therefore better value - it's the only tin that still weighs 1kg. (yes, I'm sad, I've checked them all out) Roses are just full of bloody caramels now - yuk!

Liking the idea very much of a 'sweetie swap shop' idea after christmas. I picture people meeting in car parks on New Years Day offloading unwanted Caramel Kegs in search of Green Triangles. Mmmm...

usualsuspect · 20/11/2011 19:27

I would be more than happy to receive anyones unwanted caramel kegs

LaurieFairyCake · 20/11/2011 19:30

Neither.

The first entry in my diary last year was never to buy either again. They were disgusting and didn't get eaten.

All the tasty ingredients have been replaced by SOYA - they are really, really claggy and nasty.

cairnterrier · 20/11/2011 19:37

Roses all the way.

Jellykat · 20/11/2011 19:46

Sparklingbrook yes, that's what they've morphed into, defo no comparison.. it's tragic i tell you! Sad

Thumbelina46 · 20/11/2011 19:46

BornToFolk · 20/11/2011 20:01

Noooo! I'm sure I've had coffee cremes fairly recently. They always get left till last in the tin at work and I hoover them up!

pointydog · 20/11/2011 20:06

Roses.

Hardly like any QS

GsyGacheFiend · 20/11/2011 20:07

Roses - I also prefer the Cadburys chocolate and my favourite is the Brazilian Darkness.

ScatterChasse · 20/11/2011 20:09

Roses are the ones with Brazilian Darkness yes? Roses.

I still haven't forgiven them for what they've done to Black Magic Sad Those were my absolute favourites, I knew all the shapes and everything!

attheendoftheday · 20/11/2011 20:09

What Flamingo abd SirBoobALot said. No QS in my house as I'm still boycotting Nestle.

MustControlFistOfDeath · 20/11/2011 20:12

A tin full of Brazilian Darknesses please Smile

Jins · 20/11/2011 20:18

Not a Cadbury fan either so QS by default.

weepootle · 20/11/2011 20:25

Quality Street, but nothing beats orange matchmakers.

olibeansmummy · 20/11/2011 20:42

Unless Borntofolk, they've brought them back?! < please tell me they've brought them back!!! >

ScatterChasse · 20/11/2011 20:43

Ooh, I'd buy one of those Fist.

tethersend · 20/11/2011 21:02

Matchmakers are like chocolate with sand in.

usualsuspect · 20/11/2011 21:06

Matchmakers are christmas presents for people you don't like much Grin

Sparklingbrook · 20/11/2011 21:07
