Thought it might be helpful for us to list where we may have come across any bargain buys in the lead up to Christmas.

I've personally found a few good buys on play.com. I had 3 Christmas DVD's (aimed at toddlers) for £4.00 with free postage. They also do leapfrog leaptop for £14.99 beating Argos and Toys R Us by £5.00 and Tag Junior for £22.39 (£30 in Argos). Aquadoodle Classic comes in at £13.39 (£19.99 Argos). Everything has free delivery although does take around 3 working days.

I also nipped into Asda yesterday to buy a toy vacuum which was originally costing £22.99 but they had a good one for £12 and then noticed a 2 for £20 offer on and therefore picked up a Leapfrog Potsy for just £8 - it was going to cost nearer £20.

If your local boots has a toy section, it might be worth popping in- they had quite a few bits reduced n shelces in my local. Lots of cars 2, few lego bits, crafty things, and baby toys- probably 2/3 bits on every bay of 10 items were reduced.

I found some Cars 2 stickers in Tesco yesterday reduced to 18p, stocking filler for ds who'll love them.

I'm going to have a look round for bargain 'back to school' stationery for dd who loves anything to do with writing/drawing. MIL found some gorgeous notebooks in Sainsbury, she said they were a bargain but not the actual price, but she only buys stuff cheaply!

I have also picked up a couple of dvd's for the kids for a few pounds each online at HMV yesterday.

Curlygirly · 15/09/2011 16:04

Went to visit the new Westfield in Strarford yesterday and there were lots of deals/sale in The Entertainer toyshop. Bought 7 boxes of the Deluxe Paperoni Studio which last year I got for my girls for £20 and now they were selling them for £5. That's 75% off.

Have a look at their website. They had the Slyvanian Famillies Lodge from £69 to £34. Some of the stuff it was sold out on the website but there were lots in their shop. Well worth a trip to their shop.

Also got lots of glowsticks, either the star or heart wands one or the brushes, or 5 pk bracelets or 2 pack necklace ones for £1 each and in Hawkins Bazaar, they are £2 or £1.50 each. Great for stocking fillers.

I also picked up a Talking Tron robot -Sam Flynn down from £30 to £10.

BestLaidPlans · 15/09/2011 23:26

My niece has asked for a Moxie doll for her birthday and I saw one in Tesco today reduced down, according to the shelf edge, to £10.97. I decided this wasn't too bad, went to the till and it actually scanned at £5.97.

Honeydragon · 16/09/2011 13:12

Waitrose have got the summer stuff reduced.

The bbq fire buckets sets are down from £15-00 to £2.50 each and the forks were 0.99 from £4.00.

I bought 3 of each, and am going to wrap them in cellophane with skewers and marshmallows as Winter patio sets Smile

mumatron · 16/09/2011 14:59

Honeydragon · 16/09/2011 16:34
