Last year I started the tradition of new pj's at Christmas....was an idea I got from MNers, seems a lot of you do this.
So...where can I buy lovely pj's from? Last year's were BabyGap....any ideas?

Thank you

:) I am also on the look out for Christmas PJs!

We got them from Jo Jo Maman Bebe last year, and though the trousers are good, the tops have shrunk vertically so belly buttons are on display. WOn't be buying those from there again!

nicecupofteaplease · 16/08/2011 21:02

I found some lovely ones at Em & Lu, quite pricy but gorgeous

poeia · 16/08/2011 21:03

I have bought pj's from there before too, and they also have gone a funny shape - the tops have kind of stretched outwards, making them really short but very wide!!

Ooooh I do this! But for all of us. Dh and dd had some from asda and I'm sat in my primark ones. Red with White reindeer in august!

Don't know if anyone has started stocking yet but I can't wait for new ones. Festive pj's and a Christmas film.

Shinyshoes1 · 16/08/2011 21:12

the children have a hamper wrapped up in cellophane in a basket.

Contains
new pj's
a dvd
hot choc mugs with marshmallows
a new tooth brush
bath bombs
a tube of sweets each

we all settle down after a bath a change into their new jammies and we all watch the DVD christams eve night

can't wait, the children love it

Flossbert · 16/08/2011 21:15

The last couple of years la senza have done bogof on pj's around October I think. I've bought them for both SIL and MIL but unfortunately I can't report how well they've worn because I received not so much as a "Ta Flossbert" Angry

Flossbert · 16/08/2011 21:16

I love your idea shinyshoes. Can't wait until DD is old enough to enjoy that kind of thing!

Thefoxsbrush · 16/08/2011 21:22

I do new Xmas pjs but I'm going to upgrade to shinyboots suggestion this year :-)

Tinkerisdead · 16/08/2011 21:23

Love hamper idea. I did hot chocolate on sticks and Christmas mugs but a hamper would be so much better. Think I may steal that!

I do advent calendar with activities and little gifts they have to hunt so a hamper would be a great final advent prize!

Thefoxsbrush · 16/08/2011 21:23

Shiny boots? Must have Santa on the brain! %23shinyshoe

i love christmas Grin
have been lurking on the christmas topic for over a week eager to join in!
i got both boys a buzz fleece suit last year as my house is freezing in the winter! like other mn i stole the idea of the xmas hamper on xmas eve and my boys loved it! i left it in there bedroom near their fireplace so when we came in they saw it & theought the christmas faries had brought it down the chimney.
i put hot choc, marshmallows, pjs, a snowman ballon each which was their fav bit!, a christmas book, cookies and some colouring books.
this year i think i'll add a dvd & maybe bubble bath or something, i love it!

iloveblue · 17/08/2011 09:10

We've done this for the last 3 years now.
I get my boys the twin pack PJ's from Next.
They last and last - DS1 still wearing his from 2 years ago.
The slim fit ones are really cute, I thinkk they call them snuggle pyjamas.

LordOfTheFlies · 17/08/2011 11:29

I've bought the fleece PJs from Primark- they are £4 ish.
Then if they get Christmas pattern PJs (DD got reindeer print last year, DS got dark blue with skulls- I know not very festive Hmm !) if they only wear for the winter, I haven't spent too much.
Last year DS 11yo had his bath and asked ' Don't we usually have Christmas PJs?" and when I produced them he pronounced they were 'cool'.

I've bought fleece slipper boots, will get the PJs and will definately steal some of the hamper ideas.
Ours used to put on fancy dress costumes on Christmas Eve but now they think they're too old.And last year we had enough snow lying to be a proper White Christmas.

poeia · 17/08/2011 20:21

Ooh, thanks for all your ideas...I also love the hamper idea - shall be borrowing that one also!! Love the idea of marshmallow hot chocs in their new pj's on Christmas eve.
Oh dear, I am feeling way too excited already....dp thinks I've gone mad...

Matalan do some lovely Xmas patterned pj's. They are flannelette (sp?) and very cost.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/08/2011 20:32

Cost? I meant cozy, bloody predictive ......

CDMforever · 23/08/2011 17:44

Wow shiny I LOVE the xmas hamper idea.
But I know for a fact that my 2 LOs don't like hot chocolate - any ideas as to what I could use instead.
Maybe just more chocolate, penguin shaped etc???
Last year, thanx to MN, I started the xmas eve pyjama tradition, really lovely.

Awomancalledhorse · 23/08/2011 17:47

We do new PJ's too, I can recommend you stay away from M&S, awful crap PJ's that lasted about 4 washes (she says sitting in her Primark Xmas PJ's from 3 years ago)!

Also stealing the hamper idea....feeling very festive, too early to put up the tree? Grin

picnicbasketcase · 23/08/2011 17:54

Primark! £4 a pair and they're lovely.

BustyStClaire · 23/08/2011 17:55

I would try almost any shop, in person or online.

LordOfTheFlies · 23/08/2011 21:42

Lasy year I got 2 fleece all-in-ones from Primark for my DD. They were pink so not festive but darned warm.
They do adult sizes as well.

Must campaign for red reindeer pattern...

olibeansmummy · 24/08/2011 12:25

Last year ds got flanneltette George pig ones but as he was only 19 months I only out them on him in the morning so they'd stay nice for the pictures lol ( he had different ones on in the night I'm not that mean!) this year though he's 2 and soooo grown up that he already refuses to wear pjs and sleeps in boxers and a t shirt. Maybe I could get him some Xmas boxers lol

Pamplemoussse · 24/08/2011 12:28

the nicest jammies my boys have are from fat face of all places

a bit spenny but v v good quality

wfrances · 24/08/2011 16:38

john lewis and m&s have the best christmas jammies imo

Madondogs · 27/08/2011 19:08

Ooh love the hamper idea! Dc always have new pj's on Christmas eve. I always tell them that they are not having new ones, and lay them out on their beds while they are having a bath. They play along with this every year e en though they are 13and 17 !
