... still waiting on a parcel with no idea if it's going to arrive in time!?

Dad ordered a game from tesco for ds (second most wanted item on his list of 4 items he actually is hoping for). He ordered it 8 days ago but it hasn't arrived yet. But other items I've ordered since then (not from tesco) have turned up today; including via courier as well as royal mail package.

As I haven't ordered it myself I can't chase it up to find out how/if it's coming. Dad is in New Zealand too so not so easy for him to chase it up either.

Am in south east and we've not had any snow for a couple of weeks now. Well that was true up until an hour ago and now I reckon we have an inch. So can't think why it's late other than lost or royal mail too over whelmed with back log possibly.

Don't know if I should wait a couple more days or should I just assume not coming now and run out and but it and then send parcel back if it does turn up .

Anyone else in a similar position?

I ordered a sledge last Tuesday in advance of the snow on Thursday so we wouldn't be stuck for something to do again - guy promised 24hr delivery (thought at that point he knew what the status was with his courier service.

8 days later!! It's been at the local depot for days it say online, but they won't answer the phone or reply to emails or voicemails...

Also waiting on some of our kids Christmas presents from Amazon ordered 10 days ago which also looks to be using them...

I've had that - still waiting on Amazon. Nervous in the extreme as a LOT of my Xmas presents for the family are riding on that order and it's been stuck in Swindon for days now.

On the upside, chococo were supposed to send something from the West Country arriving on the 17th. When no sign by Monday, I politely emailed them. Had a reply back within an hour saying they'd sent it upgraded to Special Delivery as they anticipated problems (I'd not paid for that) with the unanticipated tracking info. It arrived yesterday and was beautifully gift wrapped as well (I'd not paid for that, either).

Really, really impressed by their customer service. And IMO they make the best chocolates in the country, too - much more original than anyone else, very modern English rather than faking being Belgian or Edwardian English, and look prettier, too. Each one is a little work of art.

Cox & Cox customer care is awful, so it's nice to see another small company from that neck of the woods get things so right. (I like ordering from small companies but it can be a bit nerve wracking sometimes.)

A postman has just ventured into our road for the first time since last Thursday!

My last two parcels arrived via RM today, that's everything now, hooray :)

Last Amazon via RM arrived today.

Awaiting a DHL delivery. Was out or delivery Monday and Tuesday but delayed due to adverse conditions apparently - hmm, as now snow here for two weeks i think they are pulling a fast one there Have been onto DHL so many times and local depot doesn;t answer, neither does delivery man. Left messages. Have since had a text to my home phone syaing it'll be here between 10:30 and 4 - so we shall see.

God. I'm in shock. I ordered a Brio train station at half the usual price from a company selling via Play.com at 4pm on Monday. Got an email an hour later with the FedEx tracking info - and it's here. I got it with a cheque a relative sent, had no expectation of it arriving on time.

In case anyone wants to order via them in hopes it may actually arrive before Xmas, which if my experience is any guide it may:

They have their own website but Play.com offer free postage and you pay on their site, so it's cheaper there.

How is it that they can do that and Amazon are on their backsides? Makes no sense at all.

DHL has finally delivered - 2 days late, but at least it is here!

I did ALL my Christmas shopping online in half an hour last Friday and it was all here by Monday (Dell, John Lewis, Liberty, White Company) All parcels came by carrier, not Royal Mail.

My Play.com item has arrived, via RM. At last! :) Hope everyone else gets theirs as well.

Amazon are on their arse because they're using Royal Mail. I'm pretty fucked off wth them actually as I;m a Prime Customer, and if I'm paying £45 (ish) a year for a service, then I don't expect a parcel to take 2 weeks to to get to me!

My Amazon order arrived today - obviously I was out and now I have to treck out to the bloody sorting office to collect it because it needs a signature! But at least its here. I ordered on Dec 4th.

I've just found out that DH only ordered his stuff at the weekend, my presents included :(

Out of my 8 Amazon parcels due this week, 3 have not arrived (and 2 of those I paid extra for 1st class delivery). I bought replacments for 2 of those in the supermarket and found they were actually cheaper there. Guess I won't be going straight to Amazon next year.

I feel really let down, Amazon have always come though in the past.
