Soooo, if I wanted some hastily-painted glass birds to hang from my oh-so-tasteful tree, I could choose six for

£12.99 from amazon

£15 from cox and cox

or

wait for it

£24.95 from pedlars

Hmmmmmmm, let me think. Hmm

I particularly love the way the pedlars birds look faintly embarrassed to be there. Grin

I dunno Mila, I've been known to covet and indeed own some quite suspect items.

DP's irritatingly good taste has put paid to most of my excesses, sadly.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 26/11/2010 11:53

tafetta, it's on offer for one hundred and ninety nine of your earth pounds.

I'm going to laminate a jam sandwich, add two old guiding badges and a pine cone. Four hundred squids please.

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 26/11/2010 11:58

I'll buy it, Sue Grin

Actually someone posted on MN a little while back about still having their old sleeping bag, adorned with dozens of Guide badges, in the loft. That is perfect Pedlars tat vintage, surely?

ClaireDeLoon · 26/11/2010 11:59

I love this bit of the description for the parka that costs 365 quid

"This is built-to-last and for all-year-round use, and is of the highest possible quality at a fraction of the price of many similar coats."

Actually I suppose 8/3 is a fraction really.

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2010 12:19

hahahah

SuePurblybiltByElves · 26/11/2010 12:20

Cath Kidston sells them, well Guide blankets with fake badges on. I've been using a 30yo Scout blanket with badges on for years as a picnic/outside play blanket. It's currently on a chaise in my sitting room. I must be bang on the Pedlars trend.

Pedlars seem to prefer the horse blanket look tho:

horse blanket
horse blanket for 5o squids

TequilaMockinBird · 26/11/2010 12:30

I would really like a Pedlars Product Test.

Pleeeeeeeease Mumsnet HQ Grin

FreudianFoxSquishedByAPouffe · 26/11/2010 12:38

Aitch- another maths gag for you:

F(x) walks into a bar and orders a drink, but the batman says "sorry sir, we don't cater for functions"

Well I laughed anyway Blush

Unprune · 26/11/2010 12:40

I LIKE THE SWAN
Stop dissing the swan

Needless to say I wouldn't pay that for it.
Also...it's a bit two years ago.

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2010 12:42

hahahahaha

SuePurblybiltByElves · 26/11/2010 12:50

Uneprune - if you like the Swan, you'll adore the hummingbird

BlackBag · 26/11/2010 12:59

Have Lord or Lady Pedlar come out the woodwork yet?

Come on show yourself. Grin

BellaBearisWideAwake · 26/11/2010 13:05

do you think the fox cube is a really upmarket Stuffy from Show Me Show Me? Replace the fox tail with orange fake fur, the black and white photos with some eyes ... and voila!

Unprune · 26/11/2010 13:29

Oh I do, Sue, I do!

taffetacat · 26/11/2010 13:34

Sorry, UnPrune, but that swan is the stuff from the deepest darkest recesses of my very worst nightmares.

They'll be flogging cackling porcelain dolls a la Armchair Thrillers next

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 26/11/2010 14:00

It is quite macabre, I agree Grin

taffetacat · 26/11/2010 16:25

can I post on here at all?

taffetacat · 26/11/2010 16:27

"Please not that you are currently unable to use special characters in your message and title. If you are having difficulty posting, try removing characters such as pound sign and curly quotes. Usual characters like ! and A-Z, 0-9 are okay to use."

I have this message displaying, does everyone have it or is because I have been voicing opinions about overpriced tat?

taffetacat · 26/11/2010 16:41

WTF are curly quotes?

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 26/11/2010 16:42

They use too much Internet. Bold , italics and strikeout will be next.

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 26/11/2010 16:43

Curly quotes are the ones on the [ ] keys you need the shift for.

I think.

taffetacat · 26/11/2010 16:49

Oooooh I see thank you. Nuffink to do with the Gladstones then.

I see the pointy quotes are still working
