3 yo DD would like - to quote "the Beatles and a Magical Mystery Tour Bus. Ringo has a pink top".

Can anyone help with this?!

What are your children's strange requests, and what have you bought to fulfil them?

Tummytickler - dd1 asked for a jar of mayonnaise for her third birthday a couple of years ago. Most odd as she doesn't even like it.

With me at the moment it's not so much what they want for Christmas as where they want to go - can we go to France, can we go to Spain, can we go to Poland, can we go to Japan, can we go to "Africa" - it's endless. Yes I say. One day....

girlywhirly · 18/11/2010 14:42

katie, have you got a special Santa key? I've seen these around, for houses with no fireplace! You could make your own from an unusually shaped key and put a special label on it. Leave it out on Christmas eve!

My cousins 3.8 dd asked for a jar of Roses. They realised she meant the sweets, but were astonished when she asked for nothing else, in spite of all the TV ads.

Roffling at these, and very Envy of Tainted and her potato. Grin

Dd wanted a breastfeeding cat and a penguin that gave birth last year, and if you search the MN archives, the wonder that is MN posters found me both!

izzybiz · 18/11/2010 15:15

My 2 yo Ds has said he'd like a Buzz, a mouse and some darts...

NorbertDentressangle · 18/11/2010 15:20

When DS was 2.5 he wanted a caterpillar, a comb and some ice cream for Xmas.

Why 3 such random items I don't know but he was consistent in asking for them every time someone asked him what he wanted in the 3 month lead up to Xmas.

The comb was easy. The ice cream we had to give him after Xmas dinner as we explained that FC couldn't put it in his stocking as it would have melted so he'd put it in the freezer. I searched high and low for a caterpillar toy and eventually found a wind-up one in Hawkins Bazaar.

DS2 asked for blutack last year. He's set a trend as it appears on all the DCs' lists this year lol.

NorbertDentressangle · 18/11/2010 18:05

Chippy -I remember the year that DD had Blu-Tack and a sellotape dispenser (£shop, came with about 4 rolls of tape too so a bargain!) in her stocking.

You couldn't have seen a more excited child Grin

ChippyMinton · 18/11/2010 18:23

DC with stationery fetishes - DS1 asked for a swivelling office chair for his birthday. He also received a stapler and hole punch [future captain of industry]

Jbck · 18/11/2010 18:26

DD2 has asked for very specific pjs that say 'Sweet dreams' on them. As she's only just turned 3 I could buy any old slogan but apart from the fact DD1 might tell on me, I feel I need to get the proper thing.

Anyone seen any?

NorbertDentressangle · 18/11/2010 18:26

They can lose hours browsing in WHSmith can't they?!

That reminds me, DD has requested a stapler for Xmas. She has a swivel chair already, not an office one but an Ikea swivel one at the desk in her room.

Lilyloo · 18/11/2010 18:28

dd2 has asked for a pink toy mouse with wheels and brakes ???
She has stuck with this for nearly 2 months whenever anyone has asked her what she wants. Confused

JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 18:36

Jbck - does she like Peppa? here (though it does say out of stock but might give you some ideas)

I love stationery, DS2 loves coloured tape, got a pack of 8 rolls for £1 in B&Q :)

JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 18:37

rather awful pink mouse

has wheels, no brakes though.

JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 18:38

PaulineFouler · 18/11/2010 18:38

JustKeepSparkling · 18/11/2010 18:40

SuePurblybiltByElves · 18/11/2010 18:41

Bucharest · 18/11/2010 19:18

Sue- what with the fishy things on the other thread, it's clear we have very similar daughters. The penguin that has a baby is called Mamy Penby (for when your dd decides she wants that Wink)

VoldemortsNipple · 18/11/2010 19:40

Last year DS2 wanted a lambanana

everybodysgotone check out this link you may find something for DD to do with the beatles

jooseyfruit · 18/11/2010 19:42

AmazingBouncingFerret · 18/11/2010 19:51

pigleychez · 18/11/2010 20:06

jbck- any good?

My DD is alittle young at the mo but cant wait to hear all the weird and wonderful things Santa is expected to bring! :)

Littlepurpleprincess · 18/11/2010 20:27

DS wants a cuckoo clock, and by some miracle my MIL FOUND ONE! A child friendly, light-sensing one, that can be turned off when we are fed up of it.

I do love my MIL. Smile
