Hi, continuity thread for my little DS (3) who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma last week. Much gratitude for all the support the Trazzles have received. You nasty nest of vipers, you Grin

I can feel your frustration & given everything you're going through its particularly annoying to have to deal with crappy little things like that on top.

I really hope you get sorted soon & are able to get home shortly.

I honestly wish there was something I could do for your family, so if there's anything please let me know or pm me. I'm not very eloquent on MN & others always put things much better than I can, but I think about you & your gorgeous boy a lot & send my very best thoughts & wishes to all of you.

madasamarchhare · 28/10/2012 11:13

Trazzle I've been following your thread but rarely post at all. I think of you and your darling boy often. Hope you make it home very soon

ChippingInLovesAutumn · 28/10/2012 11:15

Have you managed to get home yet?

If they only have 2 patients each, why are you being let down like this? It's bloody hard enough without them making it more difficult?

Trazzletoes · 28/10/2012 12:20

We're home! And eating yummy lunch. DS brightens up the second he leaves the ward. It's lovely to have everyone at home under one roof.

ChippingInLovesAutumn · 28/10/2012 13:42

YAY - have a lovely day all together :)

Trazzletoes · 28/10/2012 14:52

Despite being overjoyed to be home, I've felt really low this afternoon and keep bursting in to tears. I've been sent to bed but can't sleep so I thought I'd tell you about my DS.

His name is Joseph Andrew Brian. Joseph was the only name DH and I could agree on. His middle names are after his grandfathers, neither of whom are with us anymore. But both were wonderful, strong, inspirational men in their own way.

He is a very thoughtful boy who loves stickers, jigsaws, trucks and diggers. His favourite colour was pink until he started nursery this summer and found out it was a girl's colour!

He has the most wonderful bond with DH. Joseph has brought so much joy to our lives, but especially DH's.

He's as tall as most 5 year olds we know and has always been skinny. He loves to eat, particularly spicy foods. He is crazy about books and would happily have you read to him all day.

He has a gloriously infectious giggle and dotes on DD. he adores playing with her and his face lights up when he sees her.

He's so good-natured. He wants to be a Knight when he grows up. He is so beautiful that my heart aches when he smiles.

Thanks for listening x

He sounds amazing trazzles :)
What a lovely name too.
(My dad is called Brian!)
Thank you for telling us about him - he is a very very special little boy and we are all rooting for him.
You are bound to be up and down with what you are going through..Please try and rest x

GlaikitFizZombie · 28/10/2012 14:59

OH trazzle, you write so beautifully about Joseph. He sounds like a right tinker :)

But you really should try to get some sleep, it might make everything feel a bit less full on.

ChippingInLovesAutumn · 28/10/2012 15:12

I hope you are asleep now - or at least resting - but if not, maybe a nice bath or long shower if you can't relax in bed, sometimes laying in bed just gives your brain too much free time :( and a shower or whatever just gives you enough to think about so you are a wee bit distracted. It's also a good place for a good cry!

I'm not at all surprised you are feeling low & bursting into tears, it's one hell of a shock you have had but when now you are at home, in a 'safe space' where you can 'let go'. DS is OK, he's at home with you all and so you can relax just a little bit & 'feel' instead of being 'on guard' as you are in hospital.

Joseph sounds like a lovely little (big Grin) boy and we are all here to help you all through this. I'm not going to make you any promises I can't personally deliver on - but I will promise you that we will be here for you x

Family movie & popcorn time perhaphs?? :)

PseudoBadger · 28/10/2012 15:14

He sounds so wonderful, thank you for sharing him with us x

PacificDogwood · 28/10/2012 15:24

Oh, Trazzle, I have been lurking, but just had to respond to your description of Joseph - he sounds lovely. And what a handsome boy too (I was on your profile when I came across your first thread).
I have a Joe of a similar age - aren't little boys just scrumptious?

So glad you are at home.
I really hope you will all as a family have some relaxed and fun times together until such time that treatment/investigation/bastard illness interfere again.

I'd recommend chocolate all round Grin.

tholeon · 28/10/2012 16:00

He sounds lovely. Thanks for telling us about him. I love the name Joseph.

Glad you are at home, hope you are resting, now. Xx

gordonpym · 28/10/2012 16:15

Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you're home both for precious family moments

onedev · 28/10/2012 16:23

Joseph sounds amazing - thanks for letting us get to know him. As others have said, hope you're able to rest.

BarmeeMarmee · 28/10/2012 17:12

Thank you Trazzle for sharing your precious boy with us. Joseph sounds like a wonderful little boy (he sounds very like my DS actually so I am a bit biased!). You are allowed to cry and be upset about things you know-you wouldn't be human if you weren't. Thinking of you all.

thewhistler · 28/10/2012 17:14

Joseph sounds lovely, a delightful person. and lovely in combination with his sister.

If you ever want a calm but funny book to read him, do you know Ferdinand the Bull? Ace. Banned by the US for being communist in its sympathies... if he likes the gruffalo he would like this.

Cherish yourself. Someone on another thread said try to gave there nice things to think about, one immediate, eg a cup of tea, one quhite soon eg your crochet, and one a bit further off, eg that enormous bar if chocolate you have been saving. And baths and candles and proper food, because you need your stamina.

Hugs and hugs.

thewhistler · 28/10/2012 17:15

Have three.

MrsMoosickle · 28/10/2012 18:09

Thinking of you here too Trazzle and wee prayers said for you all today.

Popping in with a splodge Smile

Joseph sounds just gorgeous! Scrummy, in fact. Smile

Fivemoreminutesmummy · 28/10/2012 19:02

Beautiful description of your little chap. Always in my thoughts, hope you're feeling a bit better after some rest x

Halfling · 28/10/2012 19:10

Love and hugs to Joseph. He sounds wonderful.

HairyPotter · 28/10/2012 21:29

Glad you made it home, nothing like your own wee bed is there? I hope you have a peaceful few days before it all begins again

Joseph sounds utterly adorable, what a little sweetheart.

Splodges of lights being sent your way xx
