Owl Babies - am I a complete wuss?

Does anyone else get a lump in their throat (and at one reading tears in their eyes) when they get to the page 'AND SHE CAME'? It gets me every time.

Ah I love Owl Babies!!!! Gives me a warm feeling and teary eyes everytime I read it. DS1 loves it, always asks for it, hopefully DS2 will grow to love it too.

My boys love this, I think it is a lovely story.

I know what you mean about getting a bit teary-eyed too

I always cry at Shirley Hughes' 'Dogger'....

And as for Quentin Blake's "Clown"

A difficult read at 18 weeks pg. Can barely get through it some nights. Mind you, DD1 has recently discovered the Mr Men, which is torture of a different kind.

I cry at Dogger too.

You guys think Owl Babies is bad, you should try reading Little Beaver and the Echo (also by MW I believe). That will really choke you up.

Owl babies is the best book ever - taught my DS1 so much about separation etc Even now when I have been stuck at work etc and late picking them up from after school club I have said something along the lines of 'I am so sorry I was later than you expected me, but you knew I'd come back, just like in the Owl babies'

Actually this is a bit of a wake up call for me thinking about it

I'll Love You Forever does it for me, particularly the bit where the son rocks the mum.

'Let's get a Pup' gets me EVERY TIME
