Does anyone else get a lump in their throat (and at one reading tears in their eyes) when they get to the page 'AND SHE CAME'? It gets me every time.

themildmanneredjanitor, you just made me well up. I'm such a wuss.

Owl Babies always did that to me, guess how much i love you irritates the hell out of me; I don't think it's written for children atall.
Another (slightly older) children's that does really get me teary is Conker by Michael Morpogo,... always

Owl Babies got me through going back to work, never mind ds. I won't hear a word said against it. I do feel a bit sorry for Bill though (or Bluill as he's known in our house) on his old piece of ivy. sniff

Yes, owl babies gets me every time, exactly that page. Peepo I love and dd loves - if I give her a choice she picks that every time (she's 1 today) but it doesn't make me cry - maybe it will now!

tmmj - I think the Daddy is going off to do night duty as an air raid warden, not off to war... but maybe thats just to protect myself

Bill looks a bit like my 10 month-old which makes me want to sob more.
