@Mazzie1 It makes absolutely no sense does it,, is yours a new claim?

Misste · 15/03/2024 14:43

@Dotty306erica yeh that's true. Told me yesterday should have decision in next 3 weeks.. not with a dm yet... who knows though, could be with one now 🤞 x

Chickapea77 · 15/03/2024 14:55

It makes no sense, they just give random dates to get you off the phone and don’t even tell you if you have actually been awarded… maybe if the information they give was reliable they would get less calls? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mazzie1 · 15/03/2024 14:55

@Vickyxxx
yep new claim, sent off the forms on 30th October, scan date 8/11
they told me likely first week of April due to the Easter holidays which will bring me to 21 weeks waiting time

I’m still on hold 😩😩

Misste · 15/03/2024 15:05

@Dotty306erica omg the waiting times are absolutely ridiculous!! Hope they'll answer in the next few mins for you x

Carrotstick123 · 15/03/2024 15:07

Do they have different offices / teams for the DMs or something, there's such inconsistency with how long people are waiting.

They gave like 7 minutes to answer than I will have to hang up 😫x

TiredTilly · 15/03/2024 15:15

Has anyone had a 2 year old with autism, non verbal and GDD been awarded or similar?

Vickyxxx · 15/03/2024 15:21

@Mazzie1 It makes zero sense how they do it. Im currently on hold now to see if there's any change. I have a feeling i wont have enough evidence so no doubt mine will then need an mr which eillbe another long wait

Daisy5991 · 15/03/2024 15:25

Just spoken to someone 1h 40min on hold…
apparently with DM now but she said it can take up to 3 weeks. Scan date 22/11 x

I had to hang up 1 hour 19 minutes wasted 😫

SL93 · 15/03/2024 15:37

Scan date 15/12 but I caved today and rang because of some evidence I’d sent off and thought I’d ask the status. Mine isn’t with DM yet which is fine as I’m only 13 weeks today. But, they said 16 week from scan date to go to a DM and then 2-4 weeks for a decision after that. So total of up to 20 weeks. I’m hoping this isn’t the case and it’s just what they are telling people as standard to get the phones to calm down, BUT why send a letter out saying 15 weeks then!

@Emma2345 @Margot82x
i called again at 12 and the lady said my daughter was awarded today! MRC until 2028!
and then said my son was awarded yesterday (the man in the morning lied!!!) HRC until 2027!
I got so emotional on the phone!

cant believe this horrid journey is over. Now to concentrate on our babies ❤️🙏🏼

I’m over the moon for you ❤️❤️ take care x

Scan date was 22/11 - for my daughter I had the autism diagnosis paperwork.
for my son - I applied when he was 20 months but delays had been identified and was on waiting list to be seen for ASD. Didn’t have any other evidence. I did type up about 4 sides detailing aspects about them and their care.

Dotty306erica · 15/03/2024 16:30

I’m given up calling I’m just gonna wait till I hear from them as no point in keep calling they tell you so many different details so I’m just gonna wait it out xx

CS0689 · 15/03/2024 16:57

Phoned this morning for an update, still with case manager but the guy said my mobile number wasn't on their system and that he'd add it. Just got a text to say my child qualifies! Now looking for an excuse to ring to find out rates 😆

These call lines are becoming a joke. Been on hold 1hr 45min and its just gone 5. That's Time I'm never getting back.

KatexCR · 15/03/2024 17:07

katiewil · 15/03/2024 13:09

@KatexCR
Yeah it's my first claim
I am not hopeful for it to be accepted as the only supporting evidence I have at the moment is her IDP (EHCP I think it means in England) and her teacher and 1:1 wrote a statement but the wait feels like forever!

I wouldn't worry about it tbh, I've seen plenty of claims go through with hardly any supporting evidence and awaiting diagnosis. I think it's more about explaining that your child needs more support than the average child of the same age, rather than masses of evidence.
Then again I've heard of people sending in masses of evidence and diagnosis, and still be rejected!! It's not fair but it's like it's the luck of thr draw. Try not to stress. Keep me posted how you get on x
