@Tmxx thankyou! 🥹
@Rebeccanew thankyou! So I had a missed call & they phoned me back about 5 minutes after. They just asked me questions about his nighttime needs. He didn’t qualify enough for high rate, so she said she will award me middle! No text as she awarded me there & then! The grounds I applied on originally was undiagnosed ADHD & possible autism from school observation. No evidence originally. The evidence I sent in just before it went to a DM was my sons school support plan & adhd diagnosis letter when he finally got it a month ago. Also a letter written by myself. I got the school senco to fill out the someone who knows them part aswell as they were the ones who helped me get the diagnosis! 🙏🏻 xxx

@Tmxx only 10 minutes I just got home from a shitty day at work and I thought I’d try.

Kelz23 · 08/11/2023 16:52

@BoyMumGirlMum2022 thanks I did try to ask on Facebook dla page if anyone had similar how best to do it, but the post was declined as usual.

Doymum · 08/11/2023 16:54

@Kelz23 is the Facebook group any good?

Doymum · 08/11/2023 16:55

@tmxx I think if I get through and told call back the end of November I will explode lol 😂

Asdmummyhere · 08/11/2023 16:58

@Kelz23 I had to leave the Facebook group, the rules got out of control 🤦‍♀️ c

Kelz23 · 08/11/2023 17:01

@Asdmummyhere it’s unbelievable now it used to be such helpful group.

Doymum · 08/11/2023 17:03

They have rules?

Doymum · 08/11/2023 17:04

Still on hold I don’t think I’m going to get through but giving it my best try lol

househead13 · 08/11/2023 17:04

Hey beautiful ladies! Has anyone been awarded from 7/7 yet? That’s my scan date. Tried ringing today 3 times but they kept giving me the busy tone and cutting me off. Still can’t get over the woman on the phone on Monday refusing to say if it was with a DM or not 😂 Congrats to all those with awards this week!

Asdmummyhere · 08/11/2023 17:05

@Doymum yes and lots of them, it was so difficult to post anything, it would always get declined. They then started banning people
For 24hrs if they asked about scan dates. Here is much better in my opinion. I hope they answer for u x

Asdmummyhere · 08/11/2023 17:07

@househead13 I've not seen any from the 7th yet. Today I've seen 3/5/6 awards, Goodluck x

Doymum · 08/11/2023 17:14

@Asdmummyhere why would they ban them for asking about scan dates. I don’t understand what the problem is with that.

Doymum · 08/11/2023 17:14

I haven’t seen any 7/7 awards yet fingers crossed this week

@Kelz23 is the Facebook group any good?

@Doymum yep as others have said the Facebook page is a nightmare 😄 I still belong to it and occasionally look at posts on there. Everytime I tried to put a post on there asking for advice it got declined 🤣 I got feedback from the admins that didn't make sense and saying I had broken the rules! I was only trying to ask simple questions. It's sooo much better on here!

Hi everyone
my son is going to be referred for autism, he is 6 and I am considering applying for DLA.

the school are doing an ‘about me’ form through NBS and have put some things in place so are going to wait 8 weeks and then review and have a meeting with me to sign and refer so I shall have some documents to send off. I wondered how long after requesting the forms do you have to send them back?

also my other child has a disability and receives DLA, can only one child receive it?

thank you

You have 6 weeks to send the forms off if you’d like the amount to be backdated. They’ll still accept the forms if they’re late but most likely won’t backdate any payment. You can start filling out the form, send it off and send the evidence from the school once you receive it. You don’t have to send all evidence together with the claim pack as a lot of people gather more evidence and send it off as they wait.

You can claim DLA for as many children that has additional care needs

Ollysmomma · 08/11/2023 17:39

Jude82 oh no hun- 3 weeks is a long time in limbo! Thanks for letting me know..I’ll try this way for tracked in the morning.

Just so hard to know if you’ll get or not! But massive congratulations to you hun was the a number they rang or was it unknown just so I know to look out incase xxxxxx

Doymum · 08/11/2023 18:54

@tmxx @Billie1993 no I got cut off which possibly was the best thing the mood I’m in I think I would of hit the roof if they said I’m still waiting in a pile.

Doymum · 08/11/2023 18:58

I think I’m frustrated by the nit being told consistent things. One person will say 2/3 weeks another no wait till the end of the month. If I owed the tax man they would soon respond, I’m not asking for money to line my own pockets I’m fighting for things to make and help my son. I just feel the whole not knowing is awful and going through all this to have someone look at apiece of paper and decide if my son is “worthy”. They don’t see the struggles in the morning or how his day can be ruined if I fail to butter his bread the wrong way etc etc. it’s just hard and shitty and awful having to wait. Anyway rant over let the bed time routine commence

Billie1993 · 08/11/2023 19:52

@Doymum ohh I completely understand your frustration 100% the fact that is we had to do something then it would have to have been done straight away like we had a deadline to had all the forms back by “6 weeks” yet there deadline was 15 weeks yet it’s okay for them to move the goal post so many times and tell us all different things yet if we had missed our deadline then if we was accepted then we get deducted the money that’s owed to our babies, or if the renewal was late then people also then have to potentially start all over again it’s so wrong on so many levels. And in regards to your little one in how bad your day can go just because of one thing we do wrong in their eyes how that can ruin our little ones day and set them off in a bad mood for what seems like forever but the frustration of us just waiting for someone to say yes or no is horrendous yet they could then say no but have made us wait potentially 18/19 weeks yet what they also don’t think about is theoretically they’ve made us wait longer than the 18/19 weeks as we called on a certain date so we actually are waiting longer. So hun I completely get what you’re saying I think we all do

hopefully the wait will be over soon x

@Doymum This is so true, if I rush my DD some mornings thats fine and she's ok, other mornings it can slow her right down and make us late.

Some mornings we can leave for school at 8.35am and be there by 8.45am when the gates open, other mornings we could leave at 8am and still not make it by the time the gates close at 9am, and it's half a mile away. And no-one sees that.
