OMG!

Mindee has just arrived. His mum doesn't bother getting out of the car in the mornings. This morning, my bell is playing up, so mindee (7) was getting any response from me, so she beeped her horn until I heard! It was 7.40am! The whole street is awake now! Lazy moo!

Some people!!!!!

MaureenMLove · 07/02/2008 08:07

Here we go, more rules from Ofsted on the way.

GMTV are just reporting that watching TV is no good for under 3's. Some soppy bloke, who hasn't got a clue about kids, is calling for it to be banned.

I think limited tv is fine! Silly bloke! it can be so educational!

MaureenMLove · 07/02/2008 08:11

Oh no! He's suggested that the educational things are rubbish too! I'll see if its on the website.

Can't find it. It'll come up again today on here no doubt! Why do I watch this sh*t? I'm getting wound up by the girl who was 6 months pg at 16 and her son is now about 2'ish and has a silver gem stud in his ear and a freaking dummy hanging out of his mouth!

Morning girls opened a staff room too, wonder if there will be some sort of parallel world today

How so rude, some people just don't get it.

crace · 07/02/2008 08:21

We ban GMTV in our house, I can't cope with rubbish. They had this thing on the other day about extended breastfeeding, it's all just sensationalism

LoveMyGirls · 07/02/2008 08:26

We dont have gmtv on here kids are too busy watching lazytown

i'm annoyed with myself this morning 3 times i've washed the same load of washing because i have either forgotten to tumble dry it or i have put it in the tumble dryer and left it and the door has sprung open (it does this!) and everything is half warm and damp and by the time i go back to it stinks! Now i've run out of washing powder and went to put more stuff in and it's damp and starting to smell - AAAAAAAArrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

MaureenMLove · 07/02/2008 08:30

We've got Tracey Beaker on in the main room, but GMTV in the kitchen for me whilst I'm doing breakfasts and lunches. PC is just around the corner from the kitchen TV, so perfectly placed to run in, bitch, and run out again and the mindees are none the wiser!

Time for school run!

eleanorsmum · 07/02/2008 08:40

morning all
didnt know whcih staff room to enter but saw more people in here so have bought my custard creams in for you to share!

off to toddler group this morn - have persuaded mindees mum to come too as she usually drops off at 10.30 this thurs so we have to come away early. she's coming too so then she can go when she would usually drop off! fab, dd will egt to enjoy all of it this week. she really hates hearing i've been to one while shes at preschool in the pm's!

can any of you tell me if you have a changing bag that is white inside? my old one from dd is black and i can't find anything in it! have got two sets of nappies etc at mo so really need one i can see into with lots of pockets etc!

KatyMac · 07/02/2008 08:42

I'm having a day off

Reflexology
The having my hair cut dyed & highlighted (maybe - I'm starting to go off the idea)

southernbelle77 · 07/02/2008 08:52

ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sorry, just having a bad morning

One mindee not coming as not well. Of course, I am not pleased that she is ill, but kind of relieved she is not coming as I don't think I could cope with dd fighting and them for no reason again! Other mindee due soon but hopefully they will be calm and keep dd calm until she goes to preschool! We are going to go to the library later for some quiet time!

Anyway, won't moan on about all my woes! Going to make vegetable soup now!

southernbelle77 · 07/02/2008 08:54

Oh yes, and totally agree that GMTV is getting more annoying each time I watch it. No TV for under 3's is so unrealistic and unnecessary. As long as it's not on constantly, then it can do them good. DD knows more spanish than me due to watching Dora!

crace · 07/02/2008 08:58

Katy, sounds lovely! Enjoy yourself am

SB what's up?

crace · 07/02/2008 08:59

EM - my mindee brings theirs everyday, a lovely beige Graco one that is what on the inside. Lots of pockets!

southernbelle77 · 07/02/2008 09:23

Everything!! lol

ROSEgarden · 07/02/2008 10:44

Help..baby mindee slept last night at home so mum not took to doc..today all she has done is make this noise "Uuuurrrrrrrrrrr", like a wail, a moan noise and ive just spent 45 minutes soothing her trying to get her to sleep and shes not having it, still making this noise and crying..help!back if i get a min

crace · 07/02/2008 10:54

Rose, what's up with the baby?

Hi LT, bye LT!

Dmo- you are one to behold. We watch more tv than I'd like in the evening and weekends. DH likes to unwind in front of it and dd, 2, doesn't go to bed until late (she's a rubbish sleeper like her dad) so I use it to get 5 minutes!

SB - sorry

Just made some shortbread with the girls, waiting to cool and then will have with lunch, yum!

ROSEgarden · 07/02/2008 11:58

No idea crace, nothing will perk her up????..however i have just given them their lunch and she ate it all plus yogurt and is now swinging between laughing with other mindee and that noise...so at least it one step in right direction..hopefully it will only get better , just turning off to go on school run now, dont think ill take baby to siniging group, dont think she would enjoy it today?..hopefully shell drop off in pushchair on way back and have good couple of hours sleep as shes missed morning nap already(normally an hour!)

southernbelle77 · 07/02/2008 14:02

Awwwww peace at last!!

Sorry about my little outburst this morning, was having an extremely bad day!

DD now at preschool and mindee asleep so able to enjoy a little bit of peace and quiet!

And, if someone can tell me where my bluetooth thingy for the computer is, please tell me as I really need to get the photos off my phone!!

looneytune · 07/02/2008 14:10

Hi everyone.

Mo - that's one lazy woman!!! I never beep like that, feel paranoid about annoying people!!

We have limited TV here, it's usually on for ds whilst he eats breakfast and then at the end of the day when the kiddies have gone but it's total BO**OCKS what that bloke has said, they DO learn soooooo much if you choose the right thing for them!! God, some people have no idea, honest! And to BAN it FFS - OTT don't ya think!

Anyway, how is everyone's day going?

I managed to go to toddler group today and ignore the crying for attention, it was very hard but just did what I do at home and walked away from her. I do think she'll learn quite quickly actually, she already in that one session seemed to know at the end that I'm no longer going to constantly pick her up!! All the others were like well done for ignoring her. It's the first time I've had chance to speak to a lot of them as normally she's screaming into my ear - they all agreed with what I was doing THANK GOD. Oh, I hate it though

Got back from group, did bottle for new baby then fed them both their lunch (highchairs next to each other and spoonfuls in turns, very funny!). Was all done and nappy changes by not long after 12.30 and they were both fast asleep by 1pm, I was well pleased One of them has just started stirring but gone quiet again so I'll leave for a mo. It's been nice to be able to spray down the highchairs and put away, do the daily diaries, empty and restack the dishwasher and eat lunch with a hot cup of tea, all on my own .

Only annoying thing is an agency phoned this morning, desperately trying to get hold of dh and it's the one time his phone isn't switched on They've got him an interview for next week and apparently are very picky so he's very lucky to have been offered it. No way of letting him know though!!

Right, off to get babies up I think.

God, its lovely out there! I keep wandering out to have a little look see at whats starting to bud. I love spring. I feel all bouncy and optimistic about a long lovely, sociable summer. Loads of entertaining and fun. Tis a wonderful feeling.

Right, work! Just to boys after school today, until about 6'ish, then I'm off to Kbears for a glass of wine (I hope!) She's just collected our friends from Scotland at the airport, so lots of chat to be had, me thinks!

Great news about an interview for GH, Looney.
