OMG!

Mindee has just arrived. His mum doesn't bother getting out of the car in the mornings. This morning, my bell is playing up, so mindee (7) was getting any response from me, so she beeped her horn until I heard! It was 7.40am! The whole street is awake now! Lazy moo!

just a quicky before getting girls up (it went quiet again)..........you know the 2 sisters left last week.........well they were both at a group i went to yesterday and the 13 month old crawled up to me and plonked herself on my lap for a cuddle like she does. I felt for her new childminder. Anyway, went to my usual Thurs group today and they were there again. The CM asked if the girls were used to going to that one and I explained they've been going the whole 2 years i've been going. Baby crawled up to me again and tried to get on me and CM picked up and said no and took her away (probably thinking I had enough on my plate lol). I always love giving her cuddles so it's hard but I don't want to make new CM feel bad. She'd never met me til yesterday and if we're going to see each other a lot, I want to know how to handle this. Should I have a chat with their new CM to see how she feels, sort of break the ice a bit. I can't not smile at the children, 13 month old known me since she was born and started coming at 5 weeks (properly at 7 weeks) and her sister had been with me 2 years. It's a little awkward atm

Be back later

hennipenni · 07/02/2008 14:36

Good afternoon every one, much better day today although baby mindee is a little under the weather and has slept on and off all day.

Mindee who hurt self yesterday is back with me and acting as though nothing happened yesterday although is very protective to the injury and won't let me look!

Other mindee is drawing at the moment (with cbeebies on in the background- she is very tired but doesn't sleep today so is "allowed" a little tv to relax)

LT... well done at sticking it out with screaming baby, have done that myself- it's hard but worth it in the end.

SB....Glad your feeling better now.

Katy...Hope you had your hair cut and enjoyed some "you" time.

Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned, have got to go as baby is stirring.

hennipenni · 07/02/2008 14:38

LT I think you should have a cht with her and explain things how you have oin your last reply. My baby has gone quiet again.

Mum2Luke · 07/02/2008 16:32

Children's tv (CBeebies) is ok in short blasts, what does this bloke get his ideas from? I do NOT believe in tv in kids' rooms until they are teens mind, they need their space away from mindees. My 5 yr old has grown out of CBeebies and likes Cbbc. I don't let him watch tv in the morning, he has to get dressed for school and then we leave the house at 8.20 to walk.

Also what was that 16 yr old doing having piercing done to that little one's ear? Its all in the name of fashion and it looks chavvy and rough. Earrings are for older kids/teens upwards.

Have had good day, gotta go to Chinese Warehouse for envelopes and prawn crackers/Chinese ideas for an activity at ots in the morning. Have found a few off activityvillage which I've printed off.Bye for now!

Am back from the consultant girls (did I tell you I was going today??) and... I don't know how I feel about it really, my c-section is booked in for 39+3, on May 27th but as I can go into labour (it's the getting them out bit I can't do) and I have been dead on my due dates for ds and dd I am slightly concerned they are allowing me to get that close. I was rather hoping for a 38+ date, but as the consultant said sometimes babies have trouble breathing as they don't have the stress hormone that kicks off during labour. So... mixed feelings. More worried about making it to the end without rupturing so I just need to sit back for the next 16 weeks and try to relax.

All in all a good visit and at least I have my date.. all good right? Urgh, nerves are kicking in!

I am giving up work May 4th anyway as to limit my stress for the last few weeks and to make sure I am not lifting 4 children a day when rupture is most likely. Ack!

crace · 07/02/2008 16:58

Right, after my self involved post!

LT - I would just explain everything you said to us, it must be awkward for her too. Meant to ask you too how things are at home? Don't go into it if it's too personal, just tell me to take a hike

Mo, we have been in the garden off and on as well, I love this time of year too. New life/new hope and all that. Kids in a good mood... Enjoy your wine and natter tonight, sounds lovely!

crace · 07/02/2008 17:20

No, do explain for a thicko Mo..

southernbelle77 · 07/02/2008 17:25

[big sigh] The end of a long week!! Mindee gone home and dd and I are reading through all the books she choose from the library!

Had an email back from prospective parents and they do still want me! Probs with the computer which is why hadn't heard! Hopefully should hear the date needed to start in the next week or so. Looks like all on track which is good!
Also, another parent (of child I have once a week)had an interview today so maybe more work coming from that too! Fingers crossed!

Glad toddler group went ok LT. I am sure it won't take long before she realises that you are boss I would also try talking to the girls new cm. I'm sure she would find it easier once the ice was broken too.

Hope things go ok Crace and nothing happens before your c-section date. Not easy not lifting when you have 4 kids you are looking after! Take it easy as best you can.

Lucky all who have been in the garden! The weather here hasb't been that good today. Not rained, but not really nice enough to get in the garden! Plus, I really need to get the lawn mower out before the kids get lost in the the jungle that is the grass

MaureenMLove · 07/02/2008 17:36

May the 4th be with you?

Mo - ha! Grrroooaannn

southernbelle77 · 07/02/2008 17:52

Thanks Crace! I was getting slightly paranoid so it's good to know it should amount to something!!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/02/2008 18:00

Well that's it for me until Monday, been a long week, phew.

Having a quick look around the boards before tea.

Have a relaxing evening everyone

dmo · 07/02/2008 18:01

just had a parent on the phone wanted care for her 6yr old 5pm till 10pm mon-fri
i said no but she started getting cross at me saying what was she going to do then?

she doesnt drive but lives quite a walking distance from me so 6yr old would have to walk from mine home at 10pm

gave her other childminders phone numbers but she was quite desperate

MaureenMLove · 07/02/2008 18:05

Oh dear! Probably just taking her frustration out on you DMO. Something will come up for her, I'm sure. Still another 10 mins or so for me. I do wish I could get this mindee to eat quicker. I have to stand over him and hurry him along. I served tea at 5pm and took it away from him at 5.45! He's 8, so perfectly acceptable to finish quicker than that, I think. He asked for a chocolate bar at 4.30 and I said no, because he had been offered at 3.30 and now it was too near to teatime. He complained that he was starving and then didn't finish his tea! Oh um! He's not mine, I can only do so much!

Mo - have good evening

shoshe - hello

crace · 07/02/2008 19:19

Oh go on LT one glass won't hurt. I don't indulge very often, had maybe 2 this whole time plus a guiness or two when I was feeling very tired in early pregnancy. I wouldn't say no to one now though!
