Morning!

southernbelle77 · 31/01/2008 07:05

Morning to you too!
Have you put the kettle on then?

southernbelle77 · 31/01/2008 07:07

Oh yes, good news...had an email saying that they would like me to mind the 5 month old that came to see me last week. So now I really have to hope that Ofsted agree to the variation request. Didn't get to speak to them yesterday as they didn't phone back until I had gone out so we have been playing phone tag since then! Will call at 9am (I take it that is when they open? anyone? ) and try and get it sorted!

looneytune · 31/01/2008 07:18

Morning.

SB - I had an inspector call me at 8.15am once so 9am should be fine. Good luck

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 07:19

Excellent new SB! I'm sure Ofsted will agree, there doesn't seem to be any reason not to.

Its blowing a gale here! I can here all the empty beer cans that were in my recycling box, flying around! Best go and sort them now. The council will be starting their round in about half an hour!

Anyone seen Shosh? She hasn't been in for a couple of days. Hope she's OK.

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 07:31

Forget that! I've just seen her elsewhere!

Morning everyone, It's windy and wet here!! Where's the rain coat (again).

shoshe · 31/01/2008 08:22

Mo well done on the Holiday love.

I have the lurgy.

Wasn't in yesterday, I worked but struggled all day, then went to bed at 6.

Trouble is it has sparked my Fibromyalgia, and now I hurt all over.

Only have 1 SAHmindee today so we are going to stay in, in the warm.

1 of my Mums does flextime so is taking her DD and my other Schoolies for school for me.

eleanorsmum · 31/01/2008 08:28

shoshe - i'm sick too! Have had to close today as dd is really poorly too. off to docs later, think she has chest infection, she's very wheezy and rattling! I have cold but am dosed up on day nurse!

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 08:28

Aw, poor you. There's a lot of thelurgy about and I don't think anyone wants to go out today, its rotten and said to get worse too! We've got re-cycling flying all down the street atm. Its tin and plastic today, so none of it is very heavy and its going everywhere!

Feel awful, after posting I decided to go back to bed as mindee was still asleep so just left ds downstairs playing. Anyway, couldn't get back up and mindee didn't stir til 8ish and I got up at 8.10am and had her breakfast to do/bottle etc. plus sort ds out and I felt like absolute poo. Feel all flu like and with that and my legs with the SPD, dh said he'd understand if I kept ds off for another day as although he's ok, there's no way I would have got there in time. I just wish I could take something, I haven't felt this rough for a very long time (thanks kids! lol) I was surprised with dh but then he read this thread last night and think he realises what it's like now

Anyway, went to change baby when we got down and her dirty nappy had gone all the way up her back, I felt like throwing her vest away but no, got all the crap off, rinsed it and put in a bag and sorted breakfast out - I just want to crawl back in bed.

Sorry for the moan, I know lots of us are feeling really crap, just feeling bad about not taking ds to school and trying to justify it.

I'm supposed to be on Food Hygiene course on Saturday (10-4) and wondering if I should phone and try and skip it this time so can have a day in bed?

Shosh - sorry you feel really bad

Mo - did you get confirmation of the holiday by email in the end?

SB - any luck with Ofsted yet?

Hi to everyone else, sorry can't scroll up as already hit preview button!

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 09:31

Easy day LT. Don't go anywhere and don't worry about DS missing school. He's not doing GCSE's this week is he?

I got a confirmation from HQ that I had won and they wanted my postal details, so they could send all the stuff to me. That was at about 6'ish last night, so I won't see anything today, I wouldn't think. DH refuses to get excited about it, until he has it in writing! Misery guts! He's not convinced its real. I did point out that if it wasn't kosher, it would take me about 30 seconds to turn MN into a witch hunt for HQ! These men just don't get the power of MN, do they?

Morning all

Sorry that so many of us have got the lurgy.

Waiting to only mindee then Music Group this morning.

We played all afternoon in the garden yesterday, what a difference a day makes. Brrrr

looneytune · 31/01/2008 09:35

I know, there is NO WAY this isn't happening - god MN would be in soooooooooo much trouble, wouldn't be worth their rep!!! And on the same day as all that money came through!!! Is everything all ok with you both now?

No, he's not doing his GCSE's, he doesn't even legally have to be at school until Sept!! Tbh, think after reading my thread last night and seeing what LMGs wrote, he'd really worried about how bad the SPD could affect us as a family with the income and didn't want me to push myself today!!

Just need to decide whether or not to phone and try and get out of the Food Hygiene course on Saturday? If I feel like this or worse, I'll just want to have the day in bed!! WWYD?

looneytune · 31/01/2008 09:37

BoysAreLikeDogs - I was thinking just the same earlier, having great fun in the garden yesterday afternoon and now look at it - horrible!!

hennipenni · 31/01/2008 09:41

Morning all, get well vibes to all you poorly minders, I still can't beleive that I'm fit nd well, DH was off lst week with man flu, I still haven't caught the female equivalent of the little sniffle!

LT, I did the Food Hygeine course last weekend, I felt it was a total and utter waste of time, still I suppose it's all done and dusted now for 3 yrs. Do you have a long waiting list? Our list is very long here an it took me ages to get on it.

crace · 31/01/2008 09:45

LT I would take the day off and rest, the SPD would just get worse, you need to rest as much as poss. I am worried that you are pushing yourself too much!

Congrats again Mo, must say I would be like your hubs - worried I would be disappointed. I doubt very much they would mess about though

Horrible down this next of the woods, and we are just having a rough day of it in the crace household. Mindee ill AGAIN and I am being moody about it. Well that and everything else. I need to get over myself, but some days are just so hard to muddle through.

Oh, don't forget the 5th is Shrove Tuesday!

looneytune · 31/01/2008 09:46

Henni - I'm not sure about the waiting list, I booked when the training manual came out but I don't think I'll get to do another one until I'm back from maternity leave if I don't attend this? I've been told in our area that we don't HAVE to do Food Hygiene, I just chose to do it anyway. I want to go if feel ok but if I leave til last min to not go, I get charged £30! Not sure what to do. If only it was just a normal cold and not the full works of EVERYTHING aching like made and a stinking headache. Going to try some paracetamol as that's all I can have but I doubt that will help!!!

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 09:46

Yeah, we're fine! He's a sulker! As soon as I explained why I was shouting at DD, he shouted at her too! Silly arse. I told him, 'instead of condeming me immediately, which puts my back up, why don't you ask why I'm shouting.'

Anyway, I would defo cancel the hygiene course. Sneezing and hygiene don't really go hand in hand, do they!

OP posts:
crace · 31/01/2008 09:46

Henni - have you seen the youtube clip about manflu, it was on Chat and OnlyJoking - hysterical. I showed it to DH and he even laughed, he knows it's true.

looneytune · 31/01/2008 09:50

Mo - I like your thinking about the 'hygiene' Think I'll give them a call. As for dh, oh, mine used to be like that until he saw how bad ds could get and now he's the same as me!!

crace - yeah, i'm feeling a bit like i want to be wonder woman and do all this but i just don't think i can i'm trying to make a decision about whether or not to have that one extra toddler on a wednesday. it's only for Feb, March & May. I may tell the mum that I'll do Feb and see how I go but if it's too much, I will have to let her down for the rest of the time??? She wasn't going to use anyone else if I couldn't do this anyway, still hate letting people down though. It's only the school run that concerns me. Oh, my head is too foggy to think right now!!

hennipenni · 31/01/2008 09:53

Yes have seen it! very funny, DH ws just like this last week! Bless he know wants me to get him some cough medicine for his ickle wickle tinsy cough!

LT is their any other minder that you know who could go in your place? That way you wouldn't get charged the cancelation fee. (we only get charged £10, £30 seems a bit steep)

dmo · 31/01/2008 09:54

told dh bout your hol last night mo he said if your still not talking to your dh he will go with you

saltire · 31/01/2008 09:57

Hi girls. If you see Shosh, can you let her know I have emailed her. thanks

looneytune · 31/01/2008 10:02

henni - I've emailed all the local minders and have emailed the training team with a copy asking if i can't find anyone, do I have to pay. I said if I do, I'll go but I worry about my germs! It's actually £35, I got it wrong before!!
