Morning!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
eleanorsmum · 31/01/2008 11:53

we're back from docs and now i feel bad! DD doesn't have a chest infection its asthma triggered by a cold. still she's quite needy today and we're enjoying a girly film day but feel bad for not opening! (and the fact i've lost money too!)

on the up side we've just booked our holiday (not in the same league as mo thoguh!) week in devon in august, 7 adults one child! maybe i'll get some time off..............................

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 13:07

Now then. Am I really going on this holiday, because I've just bought up half of Primarks summer collection! I even bought a bikini! I haven't worn one of those since 1989!

Equally as lovely EM. I love Devon. Whereabouts are you going? I should think you will get lots of time off, with 6 other adults to help!

hi, just wanted to speak to all of you and this seemed the best place to find you all . wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone who posted on my thread the other day and gave me lots of reassurance. I was worrying about my past health affecting my CM registration - well, my certificate has just now landed on my door mat!!! so thanks x

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 13:40

Yay! Welcome to the fold! Two things! Firstly and most importantly, marmite, love it? or hate it? Secondly, why do you love 8pm!

MamaG · 31/01/2008 13:51

Afternoon all - you DO seem in a good mood mo

Tell DH the comp IS flippin real! I've won 3 things (ooh get me)

A set of Little PRincess books
£100 of pampers vouchers (I did 2 weeks shopping at Asda, as tehy take them for anything!)
£100 of vouchers for www.smallp.co.uk

but I'm still of you. Was the call from kbear yesterday the first you heard, then? I logged in at work, saw your name, gasped and was VERY proud that my first reaction was genuine pleasure for your good luck, before my "fuck it wasn't me" hit thenI texted kbear immediately

Did Kbear know about it before I texted her?

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 13:58

No, she didn't know either. She's not allowed on MN at work! First she checked I was alone, which I was, then she told me she'd got a text from you! I just kept shouting 'NO WAY!!!' and 'SHUT UP' Then I started shouting 'F*ck off, you're winding me up! She had to log on and she said, 'look, it's here in front of me, in black and white, its you!' I then had to do some quick thinking, as everyone at school was checking my mindee was ok from the previous days incident. Everyone had really serious faces and I just wanted to scream! Totally mental!

MamaG · 31/01/2008 13:59

Spoke to Ofsted and need to fill out a form of who I have and when and ages etc. Also need to write down how I will cope with 4 under 5's, what toys I have for them all and use of space etc.
Any tips or advice on what to write then girls?!

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 14:14

She was nearly wetting herself to get out the door this morning! I've just seen her school on London local news! Typically, only caught the end of it and they haven't uploaded the lunchtime bulletin yet. I hope they do. The head master was going on about how even though they just got Outstanding from Ofsted, they will never rise any further up the league tables, because of the social background of the area.

Welcome to ilove8pm and congrats on the registration! Hello to everyone else, though the reliving of Mo's finding out she won the competition makes me

Just back from my midwife visit, she unfortunately confirmed my numb hands are carpal tunnel made worse by pregnancy. Grreeeaaaatttt. Oh, and heartbeat was very fast - looks like it's another girl. (We don't know the flavour)

Anyway, onto c/m related things - just got baby mindee and dd who loved the rainy excursion out to m/w, chemist and grocer are now resting. And I am off for a cuppa!

crace · 31/01/2008 15:27

the thread killer strikes again!

heehee

looneytune · 31/01/2008 16:06

ilove8pm - welcome

crace - I was right then, that's what I thought it must be, horrible isn't it.

SB - email me - info at helenslittleangels dot co dot uk and I'll send you the template Ofsted like to use I can also send a sample letter if that helps.

Managed to cancel my course for Saturday at no charge as I've given them notice. I am really really suffering this afternoon, my chest feels like it's going to split in 2 when I cough! Off to bed when kids have gone! Dh will need to bring food up to me

yummylittlelapin · 31/01/2008 16:08

Darling lovely childmindy/nanny/staff room ladies - first of all well done MaureenMoiLurve you lucky cow

Secondly please may I briefly directly your atention over 'ere - wannaBe was explaining (at my behest) how her screen reader copes with thread titles such as this one. I know a lot of people do the thing to make their thread prominent for people searching for it in the craziness of active convos, but I thought the point that if you only do it AFTER the subject - ie "Thursday Staff Room " then people using screen readers can get the thread title and then skip over the rest... just a thought

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 16:17

Thank you LL, tis done!

OI YOU LOT!

DON'T USE STARS (*) or STUFF LIKE ^, %, @ IN THE STAFF ROOM TITLE - NOT EVERYONE CAN READ IT THE WAY IT SHOULD LOOK!

LT - good news! Feel better love

And noted littlelapin, thanks, had NO idea this happened and guilty of doing this myself. I am sure the staff room will be good about this in future. Right girls?

crace · 31/01/2008 16:18

Mo, haha

yummylittlelapin · 31/01/2008 16:19

I did it on a thread a while back and got told off (very politely ), so I am spreading the word!

crace · 31/01/2008 16:19

And it IS horrible, whine whine - I am typing now with numb fingers.. suppose I should stop eh??

crace · 31/01/2008 16:22

Last thing, I need help! When is the bank holiday over Easter please? I need to give out notice that I will be closed that day - but won't be taking it off if offices aren't closed. Help with this one please?

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 16:24

Easter Sunday is 23rd March I believe, so therefore it'll be 21st & 24th.

OP posts:
crace · 31/01/2008 16:27

Are you taking those days off as bank holidays?

eleanorsmum · 31/01/2008 16:36

re easter - please be aware school holidays DO NOT fall around easter weekend as they usually do. hols are 7th -18th of april.

MaureenMLove · 31/01/2008 16:41

I'll be off anyway, because I only have schoolies on those days. But if I was working then I would take them off!

OP posts:
crace · 31/01/2008 16:43

AND charge for them? I am wondering if it's worth it, it's a month before I stop for maternity leave and I don't want hassle about it. DH said just leave it and take the days as unpaid, and I am agreeing with him. However, it's two full time days with 2 full time mindees so... ouch
