Please dont say I'm the only mug childminder who is working New Years eve!

I've got a HUGE selection of xmas choccies and biccies to share

I'm feeling a little depressed as none of my rl CM mates are working. Unfortunately I cant afford to take any more days off

I'm awake, but not working... coming in to get a hot lemon & honey (my cold is not improving).
I would work if anyone wanted me, but no one does.

oh nick, so pleased to have company!

well the kids are playing very happily with my DS's (hundreds of ) new toys. So I've started on the choccies already - mmmmmm toblerone!!

I cant believe I'm the only CM working. It's not a bank holiday o surely parents are working and need childcare? All my parents are working so's DP and most of my non CM friends.
Oh yeah, do you know if banks are open today? I'm assuming so.

Im working too, only one child (apart from my own and only 8 till 1.30pm. Then Im off tomorrow and one child 8 till 1.30 on wed. BAck to normal on thurs though.
Got to be others working though.
off to ignore pile of chocolate and go to cashline cos todays childs parent forgot to change standign order and has overpaid me for last week so I need to give her some money back.
My other mindees nd friends who are cms mindees are getting watched by grandparents etc cos theyre all off too.

Morning everyone, I'm not working, I always book two weeks off over xmas and new year to spend with ds and dp.

Back to it next monday! But I am meant to be doing nvq work while I'm off!

We have eaten our xmas choccies all up!

so nice to see some faces. it's like a ghost town round here.

I've got both mindees all day plus my DS. Toys everywhere! I really to sort out DS's room as there's sooo much stuff in there (not including mountains of new toys).

kay what NVQ are you doing? I wanna do NVQ3 but worried about how much of my time its gonna take up especially with working full time and barely having enough time to breath!

I'm here! I've got a full house today, which surprised me but hey - as I am in the "family way" I won't be living up NYE anyway!

In fact I am pleased I am working, my children are going stir crazy and have someone to play with now. Phew

It is NVQ3 CCLD, and yes if I actually stayed on top of my work it would take up maybe a few hours a week, tbh I could get it done but prefer mumsnet!

I should be finished for July though fingers crossed. It is a big commitment but well worth it and think I will do another course after this one despite my homework-shy ways.

My assessor comes now and again to observe me and I have to write out writtn knowledge. It is not taxing at all, it is just finding the time and motivation I struggle with, I usually ship ds to my mum's for the day and do a load of written all at once.

Im new to Mumsnet -joined this morning!!! Been reading posts for ages so thought it was about time I joined. Happy New Year to all. I finished work on 21st Dec and back to work on Wed 2nd (normally only have C'mas Day and B'Day). Been fantastic spending time with my family. Eating too much chocolate though!!

Happy New Year you lot! I'm not working today, Wednesday is my first day back and it's an 8 year old all day. Lord knows what I'll do with him all day!

Just applied for another TA job, at a local school. Its getting easy now, because I've downloaded the application form and filled it in, so I only have to print and send it off everywhere now! Going shopping for stodge food for tomorrow, since we're going to a party tonight, so we'll need fried stuff! Might get DH to treat us all to a new top to wear too! He played poker with his mates on Friday night and won. Not much, but I'm a woman of simple needs and cheap clothing!

ah crace! you working too. Unfortunately my DS wont share any of his toys (he's 2.5) and drives the mindees mad so it's more stress for me

I just cant be bothered today. Did so much with the kids before xmas. they're actually quite happy playing.

Actually I think I might head out to the park, need some fresh air

I'm actually looking forward to getting back into shape. I feel really gross carrying round this extra weight. Just gotta get through the rest of the choc and christmas cake, shame. oh and I've just found a christmas pudding and brandy butter which came with a lovely hamper. Maybe they'll last till next year I dont lie brandy butter anyway.

Just popping in for a quick cuppa. Not working but doing dreaded accounts (from scratch ) so I can do my tax return. Managed to get rid of dh and ds though which has helped. Now to search old threads to remind myself if I'm allowed to claim for certain things I'm not sure about.

I'm not going out either Me and dh have stayed in for last at least 5 yrs due to ds and of course this year, I won't even be drinking due to number 2 on the way. Think we'll just treat ourselves to Chinese tonight.

I am, I am! Going to a party at one of the lads from the football club that DH frequents on rather alarming regularity! Gin. I will become a WAG for the evening. Can't wait - not! I'm not very good at doing the WAG thing. All the girls spend hours getting readu and putting their sparkle and blign on and frankly I can't be arsed! I'm a woman of siomple needs. I might even drive yet. Its about 20 mins walk, but I'm not sure I can be doing that at 2 in the mornign!
