We are off to mini zoo/themepark for CM week

I am losing 1 staff & 2 children at the end of today (mixed feelings)

Tired too - but weekend of sailing & dancing - so no rest there then

MaureenMLove · 22/06/2007 07:44

Morning fellow cm's. Mindee1 been here 1.5 hrs already! Bless, sleeping! Mindee2, 3, 4 & 5 due within the hour! 3 of them are going to school, so its not that bad. Weather a bit rubbish today, so I'm not sure whats in store yet. Might get messy stuff out!

Looney - what time's your meeting? Good luck! Don't forget, she's human!

mumlove · 22/06/2007 08:12

Great it's friday again, but the weekend goes way too fast!
Been raining here and everything is wet. Need to take DD to school once mindee gets here, then off to toddler group.

KaySamuels · 22/06/2007 08:37

I am off to college to convince NVQ assessor I have done some work , then shopping, then major tidy up for mum and baby that are coming to visit. Haven't had a littly for a while so need to scan area for small objects that babies always seem to find!

Goodluck with ofsted lt!

It has been a long week hasn't it? Last week flew by!

It's raining here too! Been lots of flooding in my area in past week.

crace · 22/06/2007 09:20

Quick question - mindee1 is off to doctor for suspected ringworm - it's a fungus not a worm (I googled it lol) but has anyone had any experience with this one? She had a red circle, about 1cm, on her leg but it looked ezcema like... apparently there are two now and they are quite circular so they are worried.

I have no idea where should could have gotten it - my daughter is fine, my dogs are fine..

any ideas? And if she does have it, should she stay home?

crace · 22/06/2007 09:21

PS - Good luck LT - I am sure it will be fine!!

looneytune · 22/06/2007 09:27

Morning all. My nightmare baby was great yesterday, the leaving her to cry is working GREAT and she falls asleep pretty quick which is an amazing difference So, fingers crossed she stays like this today and then when I'm back from holiday, I don't have to worry about any more of this screaming for over an hour at a time!

Only thing is she's arrived with a swollen eye lid this morning and my medical book for children says it should be checked for conjunctivitis. I hope it's not that as I'd hate for any of my family to get this just as we're going on our long overdue holiday!

MML - Ofsted lady due at 1pm. I HOPE she's human, the other one certainly was NOT. She sounds nice though and nannynick said that they usually try for Friday afternoons as they want a quick visit and then home early!

Crace - thanks, will let you know how it goes As for the ringworm - I THINK you have to stay at home as easier passed on?

looneytune · 22/06/2007 09:28

easily passed on

PinkChick · 22/06/2007 09:40

hi all...goegeous day ehre got baby mindee finsihing about lunch time as dad getting off early and other mindee finishing about hour early as going away on hol..off to aprk when pick dd up then going to trace family tree saturday in little village were grandad was brought up(mum died young no dad) so hope it will be nice like this as lots of walking..its on the dales!

had to turn away a full time place yesterday!!, 8month olf baby 40 hours a week!!!..said i could do 3 days, then 5 in sept, but not now, dont want to give my current mindees notice as cos theyre part time they pay a higher rate and id only be gettin just over £30 extra for 3 extra days plus lots more work with 8 month old!..hope ive made right descision

crace · 22/06/2007 10:13

Well it's not ringworm, but they don't know what it is. It's spreading whatever it is, and they've been given a viral cream for it - but it might be shingles as she's had chicken pox.

crace · 22/06/2007 10:13

PC - yup definitely - £30 for 2 more full days and more work - easy decision!

PinkChick · 22/06/2007 10:14

im trying to stuff some noodles down my necka at the min cos a trip to the park always ends in me not having lunch!!!..mindee baby still asleep for now and mindee 1 playing with me and playdoh

looneytune · 22/06/2007 10:22

Just a quicky......how much do you lot charge for overnight care? If Ofsted approve me for this, they want me on 19th July if possible so I need to think of charges as it's not long after I get back from holiday. This baby is 4 months btw.

PinkChick · 22/06/2007 10:24

£5.50-£6.00 per hour from 6.30pm - 8.30am the following day..imin teesside so rate may differ from yours?

looneytune · 22/06/2007 10:32

Wow, so that could be over £80 for a night then? When I told mum I needed to research the market, she said in an email 'Re: charges for overnight care, only experience I have of this is registered Nursery Nurses/Childminders etc offering babysitting services and rates ranged from £6-8 per hour.'

Would you take her comments as being she'd be happy to pay these sort of rates for overnight care too, even though she'll be sleeping most of the time (I hope!)

PinkChick · 22/06/2007 10:36

yes definatly, she is prepared to pay 'around' that fee, so decide yourself how much, does the baby sleep well?how many times would you need to feed through night? or change?..base your amount on that then explain your breakdown to mum, even say once she starts sleeping through, you will reduce by zyx %??

looneytune · 22/06/2007 10:38

Cool, thanks This it the baby I'm paid double for who screams a lot HOWEVER since they started controlled crying last week, she's MUCH better - not sure about night though. Last I heard, she was sleeping through

PinkChick · 22/06/2007 10:38

good luck then gotta go.x

looneytune · 22/06/2007 10:40

Cheers, me too. Got to give baby bottle as being picked up at 11 to see Dr about her eye.

Thanks

looneytune · 22/06/2007 12:02

Well, what an easy morning Baby is a little darling, so much happier now she can get herself off to sleep Baby just got back from the Dr's, she's fine and fallen asleep. I've got half an hour before I need to get ds from nursery and then Ofsted will be here when I get back. Should really eat something now whilst I have the chance but not used to eating so early.

I'm bored, not used to not having anything to do!!

MaureenMLove · 22/06/2007 12:59

Yikes! Its 12.55pm, hope LT is OK.
I've had a busy morning with mindee 1 & 2. They are 2 & 3yrs, so its full on. Just sat them down in the play tent for a carpet picnic, so I'm grabbing 5 minutes whilst I've got it.
I've decided I'm going do all my housework tonight and then crack on with this year 6 party I'm organising. Started planning after Feb half term and now its only 4 weeks away! I'm not going to waste the evening on MN!

crace · 22/06/2007 13:02

Mo - we shall see, we shall see Good luck with the planning, don't envy you unless it's the type of thing you love, then roll on! I used to do it my previous life so a bit "party planning" out. The actualy events however, are always good fun and worth the effort

Busy day round here, dd sleeping, mindee 1 just up after a 2+hour nap and having lunch and then she is off at 2pm today and mindee 2 here until 4 and having his lunch

DH away until Wednesday and I am missing him already, such a sop! I get the pleasure of driving 2 hours on Wednesday to collect him from Heathrow. Lucky me!

Shoshable · 22/06/2007 13:10
