All approved, getting the full 5 mindees on cert (ds is the 6th) and overnight care no problem She LOVED my playroom which was nice as I worked so hard on it. I also asked if she'd consider adding the 4th under 5 to include mornings and school hols if possible as otherwise i may end up doing a seperate letter one day. She ended up by saying all fine and just said she needed to figure out how to word it so hopefully that means yes to the holiday care etc.

AND......she WAS human!!! I now feel better about Ofsted in general

Shoshable - what thread in site stuff?

MaureenMLove · 22/06/2007 13:36

OK love, found it. Some people are just out for a row and she is one of them. Try this one to re-assure you that she is very much in the minority xx

MaureenMLove · 22/06/2007 13:39

Blimey she really did wanna finish early didn't she? Is only just gone half passed! Well done you, now you can have a lovely weekend thinking about what you'e going to spend the extra money on!
God, its muggy here! I've got a sweaty headed little boy sitting on my lap. He's tired and wants a 'duddle'! His hair smells all damp iykwim!

mumlove · 22/06/2007 13:43

Great news for you loony, and she wasn't there that long. Do you have a 7 seater car? I do and I will only ever have 5 mindees at once, then in the hols we can still all go out by car.

Shoshable · 22/06/2007 13:48

well done looney, I love having 6, they always have somebody to play with.

Thanks for your thread Mo, have calmed down now, it just made me so mad Db has been in every miliarty conflict since the Falklands, and is about to at 50, go to Afgan. People like that make me so mad.

Thanks everyone

Mumlove - yes, I do have a 7 seater otherwise no way would I have that many children - need a car to get to places where I am. The babies go in the front with me as they are in rear facing seats and I have no airbag luckily.

Shoshable - just seen the thread you mean and I'm not surprised you are angry I'm not a forces wife or anything (once had a boyfriend but only short term) but I can totally see why that section was set up - so you can chat about how you deal with waiting for them, living quarters etc etc - I don't get what she's on about - stupid !

crace · 22/06/2007 14:32

Yup, seen it too - how uncalled for is that rubbish...

LT - CONGRATULATIONS!! That is very good news indeed. How did you get your overnight clear, did you have a spare room for them?

madge7 · 22/06/2007 14:34

Thanks Crace. Yes, I have a spare room in this house and that is where my mindees nap. I emailed my letter, Overnight Care policy (thanks to ajj for help with that ) and an overnight care questionnaire to Ofsted over the weekend so they saw it on Monday. Next thing the inspector called and asked to come Friday and hey presto, within a week all agreed They just need to sort out the certificate for me and I need to decide on my charges asap - I'm required on 19th July if I have my certificate waiting for me when I get back from hols! Only thing she recommended (for good practice, not I HAVE to) is that I put a smoke alarm in the room I'll use, mention in my policy that I won't drink alcohol whilst caring overnight and that I will always have a torch in my bedroom in case of a power cut. She was really lovely and was more interested in the fact I've had 2 babies from such a young age and how fab my playroom is

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who helped me out with my threads about double pay baby. Looks like we may have turned a corner and now I can go on holiday and not dread coming back to having that baby She's a wonderful bundle of joy and it really was just a case of her being given into so much at home and getting herself in a right state with tiredness.

madge7 · 22/06/2007 15:28

OMG Shosh, she's a mean old bag eh!! I am watching it, cant wait for her to come back!! tee hee!!

Saltire - I am a bit of a wally, what does "cat me" mean - sorry.......

saltire · 22/06/2007 15:34

Madge - contact another talker, it's at the top of the page, unless you don't have it set up of course.
Shosha, I agree with you about pan's comments, he's an Ar$e, we all know that our DH's/DP's do a great job in bloody awful circumstances, and whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation in Iraq, and elsewhere, they should get everyone's support. As littlelapin said so eloquently on the thread, let's hope his hoose doesn't go on fire next time there's a fire strike

saltire · 22/06/2007 15:36

In fact it's actually called Contact a mumsnetter madge!

madge7 · 22/06/2007 15:41

Hey, this "Pan" creature - are you telling me ITS a man?????

crace · 22/06/2007 15:46

A man with issues, clearly. Not that I understand what it's like to have a partner in the services.. I can well imagine that I would be loyal and object Pans postings. Well said, satire!

crace · 22/06/2007 15:48

Mindee2 sound asleep, fell asleep in buggy on way to school bless him and out like a light still. I am sure mummy won't mind him being up all night now.. oops. He's only 19months but he doesn't nap well when not at home and sometimes he drops where he is if he's tired enough or almost always in the buggy.

I do so love his mum though, she's fab - just set up a free range chicken farm and "crunchy" like I want to be She's so chill and fab -

looneytune · 22/06/2007 17:01

well he's back and I've had my say!!!

crace · 22/06/2007 17:17

Question - my son has an open assembly and I only have the one mindee and my own daughter. What are the rules about creches and leaving mindees in the care of the creche?

I am thinking you can't but before I tell the parents I can't have her until late that am I thought it worth checking!

looneytune · 22/06/2007 17:23

I'd deffo say you can't but I don't know for sure

looneytune · 22/06/2007 17:38

Can't believe that bloke on THAT thread - I never argue or anything, well.....VERY rarely but he's got me fighting now!!
