Shosha, yum doughnuts... great, now have a craving!

And the holiday in Germany sounds fab - the Anne Frank house would be amazing to see.

Katy - where have you been?

Only 3 weeks until I go home to america! In chilly Boston, but I can't wait.

Shoshable · 03/05/2007 08:08

Crace are you American I never realised! Will Boston be chilly at this time of year.

DGD's favorite book is Anne Frank Diary, as was mine at her age so we are really looking forward to seeing it (If thats the right way to describe it?)

I would like to go to Auschwitz, really wanted to take my dad, but he is now 78, and I think it would be to much for him.

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 08:22

Morning ladies.
Im not lookingforward to the first part of my morning, I have to go to the gargae and complain about lack of work on my car I don't want to I dont know what to say, I'm not very good at arguing but equally cant afford and dont see why i should pay another £40-£80 for their mistake!!! No mindee's until 3.15pm I'd better enjoy the break while i can because from monday i'm back to doing 7.45 til 6 again, which is fab news!!

PinkChick · 03/05/2007 08:23

right i only have one mindee today (& dd), but have mindee till 10pm again, weather is grotty, cold, looks like rain so park is out of question and she climbs the walls when in house(she hasnt brought big coat or wellies either so definate no no)..so what tips can you suggest?
will be back to check notice board after school run

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 08:23

PC I only just remember new kids on the block!

PinkChick · 03/05/2007 08:26

ah, i must be auld then

crace · 03/05/2007 09:27

I didn't know them, but I LOVED them (Joey my favourite).

I think it's chilly, bit colder than here at the mo but I am very excited - miss my family.

I am from there, only been here just under 3 years (ack that long) as hubby is English we live here for his work. We've just registered my daughters birth with the US Embassy this week as she needs to go in/out of America on a US passport - very annoying but she now has dual citizenship. The world is hers

crace · 03/05/2007 09:29

Full house today! Am exhausted - I don't recommend the childminding pregnant thing. Roll on 2nd trimester (only 6.5 weeks ugh)

LMG - just shout lots and stomp your feet lots. Or cry No, sorry I don't have any advice I am rubbish at this sort of thing too.

PinkChick · 03/05/2007 09:29

so are you going home to stay then?[smile[, ihas you dh got something back there?

i just found my old NKOTB concert programmes alst week when getting mums house ready to move and it tore me apart throwing them away

saltire · 03/05/2007 09:32

I'm off next week - just thought you might all like to know that.
I have wagon wheels if there are no flapjacks left
Shosha, my brother went to Auschwitz last year. He went with two friends of his and their dad, who had managed to escape with his parents to the UK, but his grandparents hadn't been so lucky. My brother is a big hulking 6' 7in tall, but he said he was in floods of tears at the place, couldn't help it he said. It was just like this big feeling of gloom and despair came over you.

Well I mentioned yesterday that I have mindee 2 and his siter today, so far she has painted, played with playdough, got all the dolls out, done drawing and been in the garden - and it's only 9.30!

Mindee 1hasn't turned up. They moved house yesterday and tomorrow was supposed to be my last day with him. I didn't have him yesterday as he was staying at his granny's but he hasn't turned up today either!
Her other CM (the one I was on about yesterday) has apparently charged the parents for today, and last week had tot ake two days off to go and visit her grandmother who wasn't well and has charged them for that as well. However the dad has deducted it from the bill, and told that since she called them at 8am on the Monday to say she wasn't in her house then they weren't going to pay her for those 2 days! it's all getting a bit out of hand.

saltire · 03/05/2007 09:34

Sorry have just realised that my last 2 paragraphs don't make sense. The CM I'm referring to is mindee 2'2 sisters CM! I'm demented already

crace · 03/05/2007 09:35

Chick , you should have ebayed them!

No, just a visit - for a week, will get sicks of not eating vegetables for a whole week and dying to get back here. Dh, Catherine and I are all going. Can't wait.. leave the 27th!

crace · 03/05/2007 09:35

Ugh nightmare situation saltire.

PinkChick · 03/05/2007 10:02

aw, bet it will be very emotional trip

mumlove · 03/05/2007 10:16

Morning to all you hard working ladies.
I have already got DD off to school, taken my mum to the dentist, got some milk and food for tea tonight.
Now I must tackle the house work. Need to put on pile of washing clean kitchen and bathroom, hoover the carpets, but really would love a coffee but must be good and get some off this done first.
What a way to spend my day off. Hope you all have a great day enjoying the sunshine if you have got it.

princesscc · 03/05/2007 10:38

At last 5 minutes for a cuppa and a biscuit. Don't like Wagon Wheels Saltire, but thanks for the offer.

Bad morning so far, shouted at the re-cycling men as they didn't take all my garden waste. (Jobs worth thing). He called me 'love' which is frankly red rag to a bull! I shouted at the man at the council and demanded they came back for it and he said if its not properly bagged, he couldn't send them back. So I told him since he hadn't got my name and number, I'd call again and he wouldn't know the difference! DH calmed me down and he has said he'd will burn the rubbish tonight instead and pulled the bin off me! I hate it when someone gets the better of me!

No kids til 3.15, so I will try to calm down before then.

(Oh, just in case you notice a new name on this thread its me, I'm changing to Maureen! Long story - for another day....!)

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 10:46

Couldn't have Maureen, so I'm MaureenMLove! Its from an old Harry Enfield sketch. He used to shout to his wife all the time 'Maureeeen M'Love!' Very funny at the time and me and rl mate Kbear always call each other Maureen now!

saltire · 03/05/2007 11:24

Argh, I need more than a cup of tea - does the staff room have any bottles of Vodka (big big bottles)hidden in a filing cabinet somewhere?

Mindee 2's sister is driving me barmy. We have done everything painting drawing, playdough, drawing, cutting and sticking, watched a DVD, and if I have to tell her one more time to
a) not stand on the sofa
B) Stop taking the throws off the sofa and wrapping herself up in them then I am going to have to go utside and scream loudly.

I need some ideas for

2 x 2 year olds
1 x 6 year old and my two DSes age 9 and 7. It can't involve lots of money, ot going somewhere, It's freezing cold outside and the sister is weraing a thing strappy sundress and flip flops, so we can't go outside for too long

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 11:49

Idea's for children -
newspaper walk (when they have 2 sheets of paper and have to get from one side of the room to the other using only the paper to stand on)
clown capers - where you egt a cardboard box drawn a clowns face on cut a mouth and they all try throwing the ball in the clowns mouth
colouring competion
shops
dead dogs
chinese whispers
hot potato (where they stand in a circle and all take turns to pass the hot potato (ball)
photo puzzles (cut up a magazine and they have to put pieces back together
design a room and let them cut pictures from a magazine
cothes show give them odd ends of material, newspaper ( possibly) black bags if you can trust them not to put it over their head.

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 11:50

Asfor the throws i'd let her play with them if it keeps happy, choose your battles you can just put them back when she's gone or give her a couple of picnic blankets instead hun. why make life stressful.

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 11:52

Oh yeh trip to the garage was fine, he sorted it without sing for money or giving me grief and had it done by th time toddler group had finished. Also had good news on the moving house front tody - she's given me the address shes said ofsted can have access whenever tey want it between 14th ma and us moving in probably 4th june and that she will send me a letter granting permission to run the business from the new address so no more worries on that side for now!
