Oh dear, poor you! How about getting the big ones to help the little ones put on a show? They can get the little ones dressed up and the big ones can make invites for you.

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 11:54

You could put a basket on the floor and let them roll the ball into it as well or draw chalk circles in the wall outside and they have to hit the target with the ball

saltire · 03/05/2007 12:29

Thanks for tips.

The throw thing is a bug bear of mine as the two little ones have constantly snotty noses, and rub them on the sofa, so if the throws are on then they can be taken off and the snot washed out, but the kind of fabric my sofa is it stains easily and it looks a mess when it gets snot on it.

mumlove · 03/05/2007 13:48

saltire - Can you not give them a sheet or duvet cover to play with? They might even turn it into a tent.

OK most of my jobs now done I'm having a large coffee. Just need to bring in dried washing and put out the next load to dry. Then back to collect DD from scholl and take her to Rainbows.

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 13:51

I think i'll join you for a cuppa, i havent done much today.

Dd2 fell asleep on the living room floor at 11.30am while i was on the phone to the Housing people - shehadn't even had her lunch of been changed but she was flat out so i took her up to bed - she's still there, what ime shall i wake her to feed and change befor i leave for school run at 3pm? And am i bad mummy for allowing her to drop to sleep on the floor?

LoveMyGirls · 03/05/2007 13:52

I need to hoover but see little point until dd2 has been fed tbh.

Shoshable · 03/05/2007 13:56

LMG - that is the only way I can get my dd (16mos) to sleep is to have ready to drop, same for bedtime at night. So.. answer is no!

saltire · 03/05/2007 16:20

We took mindee 2 to playgroup, then had two hours with his sister, mindee1 and my 2 DSes at a soft play area, and then picked mindee 2 up from nursery and went to park for 45 minutes. Now home and mindee 2's sister is wanting to go in garden. I however don't, so she is now colouring in her 6 th disney princess sheet, she wants to do painting again after this. She won't sit still, she's like a bloody duracell bunny. I tried to get them to watch a DVD earl8ier, she wanted Hunchback of Notre dame, so i put it on and still she wouldn't sit still, she wouldn't listen to stories either, always on the go and talking incessantly the whole time.
I'm going to need a vodka or 6 tonight

PinkChick · 03/05/2007 16:22

LOL here, have a bottle as a gift, you sound like you really deserve it

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 16:33

I have a confession Really bad, well not really, really bad, but it could have been! Not sure I should tell....

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 16:34

Don't forget I am PCC, I am a friend, just with a different name! Its really me, I have the salsa hips to prove it!

julia5 · 03/05/2007 17:23

Hello ladies phew what a day

Mindee 1 arrives, DSs to school, meet mindee 2 at venue for music group, whizz home after music, lunch, play, colouring, garden time, mindee 2 goes home, school run, mindee 1 picked up early (yay). Double quick change into swim gear for DS1 then the 3 of us trek to sports centre for his swim lesson. (bad mother alert) Loads of people I know there, so as no mindees I settle down for major chat. DS2 wanders off outside but that's fine innit cos he's 5 and quite sensible, nowhere near a road and lots of grass to run about on. Wellllll what do you know he managed to shut the big door on his foot, first outing in sandals so big toenail hanging off.....of course no mindees means no First Aid kit either. Aaargh would someone make me coffee pleeeease

julia5 · 03/05/2007 17:25

Crikey that was long
MaureenMLove whats the confession ?

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 17:35

What a day Julia! Think you might need to see if Saltre brings her vodka in later! Love the 'no mindees means no first aid kit!' You sound like me! I suppose I ought to remember my own dds safety at times!

Anyway - I'll fess up. I've had the day off today, had to get the car MOTed and it was easier to do it without kids. Anyway, felt one of my heads coming on so thought I'd have a nap before school.... and woke up 10 minutes after I should have left to collect mindees! Luckly I leave well early, in case they come out early, so I made it on time, but I looked a complete wreck, I grabbed a jacket from the porch, which I threw on whilst running down the road, realising it was DH's and about 4 sizes too big for me, my hair was all over the place and I had a hand print on my face. Oh the shame!

Children are none the wiser and thats the way it will stay!

julia5 · 03/05/2007 17:40

Lol MaureenMLove we've all been there. I'll have vodka later, got to go make supper now, chicken summat (yawn) again .

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 17:47

There was one more thing. Mindee 3 was at after school hockey club and needed picking up at 4.30. HOWEVER, it was cancelled. Unfortuately, the school phoned mother to tell her, but she forgot to phone me until .30 - exactly 10 seconds after I got home from school! So I still had to wait another 20 mins for the cup of tea I so desparately needed for my bird cage mouth!

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 17:48

phoned me at 3.30 that should have said - dunno what happened to the 3!

Shoshable · 03/05/2007 18:37

I'll answer to most things tbh! I've just had to go cold turkey for almost THREE hours because DH was repairing the wireless network! And he's nicked my keyboard too, so I'm very unconfortable on the laptop keyboard!

Shoshable · 03/05/2007 21:13

Salsa, Ive got a keyboard that has no letters left on it and if you dont hit the keys hard, dont type, well that is my excuse for the terrible typing

OP posts:
saltire · 03/05/2007 21:14

It's really annoying when the DH's/DP's go on the computer - how dare they. I have mine all to myself for another 3 weeks
