MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 22:21

[maureen passes the vodka and slurrs 'hello'] Whose in the band then, you? And if so, what do you play?

saltire · 03/05/2007 22:21

I have vodka, although I've had some from the bottle, I needed it after the day I ahd

julia5 · 03/05/2007 22:26

I'm a cornet player in a little village brass band, though my BIL who started here many moons ago is now a famous trombone player .
It's magic to do somthing without the children (DS1 age 7 DS2 age5) energise the old brain cells IYSWIM . Good job that my Ma is available for regular baby sitting . Good stuff that vodka

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 22:31

Oh yes saltire, you had polling days didn't you? Have you got a quiet one tomorrow?

I know what you mean Julia, i've got my salsa. just an hour & half a week, with the occasional party night thrown in. Perfect for getting away from it all.

[I'm not a great lover of vodka btw, does anyone fancy sharing my brandy?]

saltire · 03/05/2007 22:50

I used to be in a band as well.

julia5 · 03/05/2007 22:50

Just had a glass of Errazurus and staggering up to bed. Day off tomorrow so I'll pop in tomorrow when I get all me jobs done. Night all (hic)

julia5 · 03/05/2007 22:51

whoa saltire what did you play ?

saltire · 03/05/2007 22:53

Er well........................................................., the bagpipes.

Then I had to stop , as I was having problems with my asthma and was breathing when I should have been squeezin and vice versa, so started on tenor drums instead nad have been know to carry the big drum as well!

julia5 · 03/05/2007 22:56

That is fantastic Saltire I've never had a go at bagpipes although I've been known to have a go on tuned percussion (timpani/glock/marimba but that's a whole other thread......) Anyhoo night night x

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 22:59

Oh god, the bagpipes make me cry everytime! Its the thing that gets me everytime i go to Scotland. Theres a lone piper on the hills going over Rannoch Moor and I go all goosey!

saltire · 03/05/2007 23:00

Thanks, I have been known to get hold of a set of pipes 9that happen to be lying around) after a few drinks and give them a burst of Scottish Soldier, or Highland cathedral (my fave), or on the drums. I did try to carry the big drum once after several glassses of win, not a good idea.

Anyway, how did Lovemy girls get on with her visit the other day, has anyone heard, have I missed it? I wondered if she had posted it. In fact was it LMG who ahd a family coming to visit or was it someone else? I've had wine, can you tell

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 23:08

Oh dear! Yes it was, she did say the family had visited and they were going to call her - I think it was on yesterdays Staff Room chat.

LoveMyGirls · 04/05/2007 20:30
