Anyone planning to watch the new C4 programme "One Born Every Minute?".

It's a documentary set in the Princess Anne Maternity hospital in Southampton and it starts next Tuesday.

There's loads of video interviews etc on their website.

OP posts:

ruddynorah · 06/02/2010 17:38

yes i already green buttoned it

loads of good stuff on c4 at the moment.

BertieBotts · 06/02/2010 17:39

What am I even talking about, it doesn't start until next week!

lovechoc · 07/02/2010 14:50

can't wait to see it and checked out the video clips last night. I liked the gas and air one. the partner was a bit of a knob was he not? just laughing away whilst she was making funny noises to get herself through the contraction. he won't be laughing once the baby's born and he's be sleep deprived after a few weeks!

Hermya321 · 07/02/2010 21:25

I'm going to be watching it, I'm really interested in medical programmes and the fact that it's on birth just happens to feed my obsession at the moment.

lovechoc · 07/02/2010 22:23

I've set it for record on freeview for tues. really looking forward to it.

Fibilou · 08/02/2010 08:07

I'm looking forward to watching this from the comfortable position of having my baby already

MegSophandEmma · 08/02/2010 08:17

Oooh that's where dd1 & 2 were born

Looking forward to watching it.

MandaHugNKiss · 09/02/2010 21:15

Anyone else completely (AND ) at 'supportive' birth partner/husband 'Steve' in the very first story airing right now?

I can't contain myself from shouting at the television

foxytocin · 09/02/2010 21:21

all those owmen on their backs already have me hyperventilating. can't cope with hsopitals and babies. that was only after the trailer.

PollyTroll · 09/02/2010 21:24

I'm glad someone else is getting annoyed with Steve. If ex-P had behaved like that during my labours he'd have been forcibly ejected from the room by an angry fat woman (me)

booboomonster · 09/02/2010 21:24

Mandahugandkiss - am totally with you! How has this woman put up with him over 3 births! Sooo annoying. Also why is her son there. God i would go mental if DH was laughing at me during labour!

Littlefish · 09/02/2010 21:25

Steve is a twat.

pinkheart · 09/02/2010 21:33

i've had to put mn on just to see if there is a thrwad on this and hope some one else thought that bloke is a tit too, messing around with a glove when shes having contractions! what a cock! if he was mine he would have been gone out that room, also is that her son in there as well?? is it just me or is that a little bizarre?

morethemerrier · 09/02/2010 21:35

If he came anywhere near me with that glove, I would have shoved it somewhere that would have wiped that stupid grin off his face!!!

Poor woman, and totally agree with Booboo, having the son there just seems to be making the dad worse!

Makes my DP seem like the worlds best/most supportive dad, going upstairs to give him a hug just because.......................(he's not a "Steve the comedian")

SixtyFootDoll · 09/02/2010 21:35

Why has she got her 18 yr old son in there?
He looks so embarrassed

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 21:39

I agree with you about the son, I did wonder why he was there at all.

If my DH had come near me with that glove, I would have swung for him.

From an outsider (with a dark sence of humour) perspective I did find that slightly funny.

morethemerrier · 09/02/2010 21:41

OMG she just got her bum out in front of her 18 yr old???

He is going to get some stick off his mates!!!

MandaHugNKiss · 09/02/2010 21:42

Um, tracy? I'm just gonna go to the toilet...

...and eat this fruit pot.

What can I throw at hthe television that won't actually break it?!

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 21:43

Her poor son looks like he's gone into shock, poor thing.

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 21:44

Manda A cushion! I know what was he thinking????

MandaHugNKiss · 09/02/2010 21:50

Ugh, and now my heart's in my throat with the baby's decelerations that aren't recovering.

Steve finally stops 'joking'. What a man.

Petitioner · 09/02/2010 21:53

We're all thinking the same then... dump Steve, stop using your son as a supporter because your DH is so useless and PUSH for gawds sake

Hermya321 · 09/02/2010 21:53

I know, I just want to urge her on!!!

Petitioner · 09/02/2010 21:53

That midwife is a star

sausagerolemodel · 09/02/2010 21:54

I started out thinking Steve was a twat, but obviously that relationship and all it entails (being "comforted" by being stroked on the back by an inflated latex glove) works for them. Maybe we shouldn't be so harsh. This baby is her fourth with him isn't it? So she must have known what she was in for. Although the sight of 18 yr old son Liam taking a quick look around at the bottom end after being told to sit at the head end and almost retching, was something to behold!

I love that its sponsored by Honda.
