Anyone planning to watch the new C4 programme "One Born Every Minute?".

It's a documentary set in the Princess Anne Maternity hospital in Southampton and it starts next Tuesday.

There's loads of video interviews etc on their website.

What is it about? One what born every minute?

Dumbledoresgirl · 04/02/2010 18:39

LOL Fab. Baby, I think.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 04/02/2010 18:59

I got that! I just wondered if there was anything particularly special about the babies born.

Dumbledoresgirl · 04/02/2010 19:16

I don't know for sure but judging by the trailers I have seen, no, not particularly. I think it is just following events in a maternity unit.

MrsCurly · 04/02/2010 21:01

It by the same people who did The Family but this time in a maternity unit

Joy27 · 04/02/2010 22:19

Is this a plug from the production company? (genuinely wondering not being arsey!)

tabouleh · 04/02/2010 23:43

Joy27 I have nothing to do with the prodution company or the program - I just saw it advertised on the C4 website.

You could always check out my posting history if you are suspicious - but I suppose that won't prove anything.

This is the first time I have started a thread IIRC. However I've posted a little bit over the last few weeks.

I just thought people might be interested in this program. I was surprised that I hadn't seen any threads about it. I thought that this would be a good place.

TBH your comment has put me off the idea of starting any more posts .

PS If I was from the production company I would have tried to sell the program a bit!

OP, take no notice. Start as many threads as you like. Some people will always be suspicious.

chimchar · 05/02/2010 08:01

i saw it advertised. am afraid to watch it incase i get broody!

Claire236 · 05/02/2010 08:40

I was thinking about watching it but since having ds2 (9 weeks old) I find anything childbirth related makes me cry buckets.

I will be watching it with DH, we are 18 weeks pregnant and are looking forward to it we think!

BexJ78 · 05/02/2010 13:29

i will be watching. all my friends who have sky are always going on about 'portland babies', so at least i'll be able to watch this one!!

Highlander · 05/02/2010 14:22

yuk, bit voyeuristic for me

Summerhols · 06/02/2010 14:24

I watched some of the bits on the internet, as preg with 1st, then had a crisis and told my DH in tears that I did not want to give birth as it looks really painful and it is really unfair that he can't do it for me. His sympathetic response was 'why do you watch these bloody things?'.

nickschick · 06/02/2010 14:27

Summerhols - that was a similar response I got ermmmmmmmm crikey 16 and half years ago ....mil helpfully said 'well you put it in there!!' actually no!! your bloody son did and now ive gotta push it out ...... alls good though ...now!!

Rindercella · 06/02/2010 14:28

Oh God, I am guessing this is going to be compulsive viewing for me. As DD2 is due in a few weeks' time, I think I will be in either floods of tears or cringing in anticpated pain when watching it though

nickschick · 06/02/2010 14:32

Its when they get to the oushing bit I wanna push for them dunno why .....pushings not my strong point ive had 3 cs lol

UnrequitedSkink · 06/02/2010 17:04

Can't WAIT, I love a good birth story

somanyboyssolittletime · 06/02/2010 17:09

That's my due date - really can't face spending the evening watching what I have to come........ouch!

ShowOfHands · 06/02/2010 17:12

It's my idea of special hell, watching people give birth.

poshtottie · 06/02/2010 17:29

My friend is one of the midwives on this programme. She is fab.

Rindercella · 06/02/2010 17:32

Just noticed it's on at 9pm, so post watershed. It ain't going to be pretty, is it?!

BertieBotts · 06/02/2010 17:37

Ooh yes I am looking forward to this if I don't fall asleep before then.

BertieBotts · 06/02/2010 17:38

Evidently I am so tired I forgot what I was actually going to say I meant to say nice to see a pregnancy/birth type programme on terrestrial for once, sky usually gets all the good ones!
