bh shouldnt make you groan and make you lose the ability to type properly

Do you think you may be in labour now?
Go for a home birth and get the midwife to come to you. Should be over soon enough.

princessmel, my tummy was like that with DD, in fact all you describe.

She came really fast, didn't make it to hospital.

Good Luck!

Do they stop when you move around?

CantThinkofFunnyName · 10/10/2009 22:33

Princess - surely they won't be BH if you were 4cm on Thursday, have had a show and prob your hind waters have gone. This is undoubtedly the real thing and you are v v lucky to have one of those OK not too painful labours. Call your mw immediately and get her to come to you.. good luck!! Remember to get DH to check for cord around neck when you feel urge for a poo - feel sure this is coming out soon!!!

princessmel · 10/10/2009 22:34

I love these threads Thinking nice easy birth thoughts for you!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 10/10/2009 22:36

i thought you had a trickle earlier - that could be hind waters, but in any event, waters don't have to go until just before baby born and might do if you stand up -or get on birthing ball...

FABIsInTraining · 10/10/2009 22:37

1st labour - no idea that waters had gone

2nd labour - obvious

so you might not have known

oh dear I'm going to have to sign off. My DD is sitting next to me, having been promised she can sleep with mummy tonight, begging me to turn off laptop and go to bed.

Remember to sign on when you've had baby (at home probably) and let us all know!!

princessmel, i have been watching this thread for a few hours, and have absolutely no doubt you are in labour!

my waters didn't break till a minute before delivery with both my dds so that doesnt have to mean anything.

gppd luck mel
you sound just like I was with dc3 - labour was 2 days of "nah, can't be in labour" really slow stuff, then active labour 35 mins, then baby

princessmel · 10/10/2009 22:45

walked about and feel better. always happens, that the tightenings are stronger when lying down why is that??

going to go to bed and see what happens.

How exciting. Congrats! With me, I had to walk around too. lying down made it much more painful.

ronshar · 10/10/2009 22:49

princessmel, I am urging you to stay home.
Get some towels in the tumble dryer ready to be warmed up and find some plastic backed sheeting. Do you have those pampers bed mat things.
With DC 3 I had all those feelings in my abdomen, like a clamp etc. Desparately wanted home birth but no midwife. I walked/crawled into the delivery suite at 2.30am waters went with a massive pop and baby number 3 born 2.54am. Not bad!

you sound exactly the same as the day I was in labour, and I almost had my baby in the car cos I was so sure I wasnt and did not want to spend ages hanging around a hospital.

Made it with minutes to spare tho, please go and get checked out
(and make sure you remember to take everything,I was in such a rush that I forgot to bring pants,MIL had to go to tesco for me,didnt know what size I would need so bought a pack of each size 10 to size 22)

I am fine though, not crying or screaming or anything, just feeling tight and clamplike.

And I dont know if thuis is it. In my heart i think not but am hoping.

Bag is all ready mcdie

dh is scared of these 'baby born in car/in 30mins' stories.
his worst nightmare.

Ronshar I could not cope with a home birth. i need pain relief. And if I call the hospital they wont come to me they'll say to go in and be examined.

My waters didn't go at all! Dd was born what the mw called 'boil in the bag' and the waters broke as she hit the bed!

Both previous labours I'd had to have my waters broken after really long (talking days here) back to back labours that failed to progress. After niggling pains for days, Dd was born in less than an hour and half from first proper contraction to exploding bag of waters!

Good luck whatever you decide to do and please come and let us know what happens.
