Ok, i'm 40+11 (2nd DS)

Contractions started at around quater past midnight (it's now 2am)... very irregular. Lasting anything from 40 seconds to almost a minute, roughly every 10mins apart. Pretty bad when they come on.

Waters not gone yet.

hospital is about 20mins away at this time of night...

I have GBS though... when should i phone the hospital? I don't want to ring too soon as don't want to be told to go in too soon. Also i told DH to go back to bed so when should i wake him?

Is there anyone up at this unearthly hour to shed any light? or am i on my own??!!!

Wow Jen, you are really progressing!! Good for you! Could you lie down and have a sleep?

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 06:18

If you do have a nap and I'm not on (it's 10:15 pm here, just transferred Jackbaby from my lap to bed and might need to join him soon) - please please post a birth announcement!! But I'll be on for at least a bit longer, DH is out and I don't sleep well when he's not home anyway .

Good morning from Switzerland. Looks like we Europeans missed all the fun last night.

How are you doing, Jen?

You have to keep your energy up.

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 06:26

Ohh, MmeLindt, may I please have some Swiss choc too?? [pretty please begging emoticon]

jen992 · 04/03/2009 06:29

contractions have gone down to 9-11 mins again (still lasting 40-50seconds though). So frustrating!

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 06:33

Oh grrr... that is really frustrating!! Mine did that too. Minutes apart and then backed off again. In my case it was due to exhaustion from back labour though. Maybe it's because you're tired? Could you try to lie down and have a nap?

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 06:33

SNOW!!!! Wow! You'll be able to tell William it snowed on his birthday! Lovely!

jen992 · 04/03/2009 06:35

think i will have a lie down actually. See you soon!... well hopefully i won't as i'll be in hospital having this baby boy!!!

thanks to everyone!!!

Have a good sleep darling - good luck with everything, you'll do great!
(((((HUGS))))
One last back rub and then I'm off to bed too.

MrsLadybug · 04/03/2009 06:40

All the best! Come on William!!!

kitsmummy · 04/03/2009 07:00

Oooh just saw this thread as my baby sleeps upstairs, good luck with it all! I also bounced like a maniac on my birthing ball, relying fully on DH to stop me bouncing off onto the floor during contractions! xxx

jen992 · 04/03/2009 10:57

I'm still here! contractions are just as strong but only every 10-14 mins now (after almost 11 hrs). Should i phone the hospital to mention this or just sit tight? i don't want to be told to go in and be put on a drip!

Hello Jen,
Well its morning here and I was wondering how you had got on? Did you ring the hospital? Are you there now?

Update please when you can!

MmeLindt · 04/03/2009 13:14

How are you doing, Jen? Any progress?

oliviasmama · 04/03/2009 13:47

Just checked in - Jen must be at the hospital by now. GOOD LUCK and give us an update as soon as you can. Been thinking about you.

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 16:42

Hi Jen, just checking in to see how you're doing. What a bugger about the contractions slowing down again but I sure hope they speeded up again and that you're pushing your baby out right this minute!!

Hey there Jen, any news? I've just had a quick look at the birth announcements but nowt there . . . has young William arrived? Hope so!

Catitainahatita · 06/03/2009 15:45

Hello Jen,
We're all assuming that no news is good news and you are too busy with William to be MNing.
Looking forward to hearing about it when you have a chance.

Jacksmama · 06/03/2009 16:07

Hope you're happily in your baby bubble and that all is well - please post details when you surface!

    • HELLO ALL!! * *

Well, baby William George FINLLY arrived at 00:46am 5th March, weighing 9lb 2oz (wich was a shocker!). He is 61cm long and is just adorable!

Labour wasn't too nice TBH! very long and drawn out, had my waters broken for me. They had trouble getting the canula in for the antibiotics which really hurt!
William's heart rate reduced significantly whilst i was pushing so i was put on oxygen which made me pass out for just a couple of seconds. Then i was extremely sick!... but anyway, won't go into too much detail but William is jut fab!!

Thanks to all my virtual doulas!!
