Ok, i'm 40+11 (2nd DS)

Contractions started at around quater past midnight (it's now 2am)... very irregular. Lasting anything from 40 seconds to almost a minute, roughly every 10mins apart. Pretty bad when they come on.

Waters not gone yet.

hospital is about 20mins away at this time of night...

I have GBS though... when should i phone the hospital? I don't want to ring too soon as don't want to be told to go in too soon. Also i told DH to go back to bed so when should i wake him?

Is there anyone up at this unearthly hour to shed any light? or am i on my own??!!!

It's 8:45 pm here, is it really 5 1/2 hours time difference from the Pacific Zone? I always wonder about that random half hour.

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 04:49

We have that hlaf-hour thing in Canada, too - there's a half hour time difference between Nova Scotia (Atlantic time zone) and Newfoundland. I always find that so odd.

jen992 · 04/03/2009 04:50

Not too tired, although it is 4:50AM!!! so i probably am shattered really but as you say the adrenaline is probably keeping me going!

just made some lovely dry toast to try to settle my tummy!

I'm in Lancashire (North West) about 30mins from Blackpool (although far enough enough away to deny all knowledge of the the delightful seaside resort!!!)

Oh thank [insert deity of your choice here] that you have avoided being induced.
Much better this way, even if it is nearly 5 am and you have had no sleep so far tonight.

It's nearly 11pm here and am thinking about going to bed as my little terror angel is an early and very demanding riser.

Hi CS: homemade cards are always better imo than bought, its the inversion of time/love into agift that makes it nicer than a shop bought card.

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 04:58

Nighty-night catita! I'll be up a while longer. Jackbaby is sprawled out on my lap fast asleep - poor little mite, busy day, not enough naps.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 04/03/2009 05:02

Ooo my dearest old pal has a lovely bookshop in Lytham - is that anywhere near you? She's near Blackpool so you can't be far off. She's just had a baby who was 11lbs 1oz! Eeeek.

Now Catitainahatita I agree in principal that home made cards are great and much better than shop bought . . . but, these are really really crap.

I 3rd the better-to-do-it-naturally-than-be-induced opinion. Have you spoken to the hospital yet?

jen992 · 04/03/2009 05:05

Very near Lytham (Preston infact!).... Ltham is a lovely place!

Just phoned the hospital and was told to wait until they're 5 mins apart!

Night international rescue doula team. Hope you can keep Jen cheerful until her DH gets up!

Jen: best of luck, you are doing just great so far. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Hopefully William willarrive swiftly and with no incidents. Lots of virtual hugs and a final back massage.

Night night all.

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 05:09

That's what they always say...

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 05:09

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 05:38

Oh, how tedious. Very painful? Lasting how long?

ClaudiaSchiffer · 04/03/2009 05:41

Jacksmama, apropros the thread you linked to . . the kids all went quiet for a bit jsut now, me happily mumsnetting away for 5 mins. sounds of happy giggly play coming from upstairs. I just wondered up there to find my EXPENSIVE make up plastered all over 3 children and all over my white bathroom (white cupboards, white bath, white tiles) now all red and blue and glittery.

AAARRRGGGHHHH SOD THEM ALL.

Darling kiddies, so lovely and yet so destructive. ARe you sure you want another one Jen. Bit late now tho I s'pose.

MrsLadybug · 04/03/2009 05:47

Hi Jen - I am in Malaysia and it's coming up to 2pm here!! 14mo DD having afternoon nap. How are you doing?

jen992 · 04/03/2009 05:54

contractions now about 45-50s and around 6-8 mins apart (very roughly as they are varying a lot).

Feeling pretty strong now!

could do with a nap! feeling sleepy tired now!

You're doing fantastic jen, adrenaline is a great thing.

Right, gotta go for a bit to make the kids dinner. God I hate having to think about dinner every day. So tedious.

Good luck Jen, will check in a bit later xxx
