CantSleepWontsleep is being induced tomorrow. She's disappointed that she won't get a live birth thread. Come and console her here.

And whilst you're here, feel free to answer any of the following...

What does one wear for induction - nightie ready for it all kicking off, or normal clothes for wandering around hospital in?

Anything else I should add to my hospital bag that I'm more likely to want with an induction?

If the prostoglandin stuff doesn't work, can I decide at that point to leave it, as I don't want my waters broken or the drip?

Would they be able to tell from a scan whether my placenta was still functioning just fine, whereby a few more days wouldn't hurt?

I'll be 40+5, and the induction is because I have gestational diabetes. It's standard practice to induce between 38 and 40 weeks for this, but I've been 'allowed' to go over because my control of it has been good.

Come on csws

Flamesparrow · 09/10/2008 07:57

"Well high drama in the night chez NHS. Managed to rescue a woman who was 10 mins from giving birth on the ward at 4am! Then stfu woman was on the phone at 5am, but I was already relaxing with some chill out music. Now showered and made coffee and on the monitor for a bit. Day shift start at 7.15 so hoping they will confirm ARM still on for this morning"

Flamesparrow · 09/10/2008 08:05

ooh and more

"Aaargh. All rooms full in delivery! I'm the priority once they have 2 free rooms, but who knows how long that could take. I want to have my baby and be back on the ward by lunchtime! Chilli today followed by pineapple sponge. Am wanting to stick a plug up stfu woman's fanjo to make sure she doesn't queue jump."

Buda · 09/10/2008 08:24

Breathe.... and push. More vibes coming from Budapest. Hope they don't take too long to get to you!

I had not one but two of those STFU women in the ward I was on the night my waters went. Beatches!

Come on CSWSjunior... it's time to come out now. You'll be beating my DS's 5 day induction at this rate..

Poor CSWS, I really feel for you. It's no fun being stuck on the ward waiting and waiting... go for a nice long walk with lots of stair climbing sideways to shake baby down a bit..

Good luck

Aitch · 09/10/2008 10:33

gerrup them stairs, lady. quelle nightmare.
