CantSleepWontsleep is being induced tomorrow. She's disappointed that she won't get a live birth thread. Come and console her here.

And whilst you're here, feel free to answer any of the following...

What does one wear for induction - nightie ready for it all kicking off, or normal clothes for wandering around hospital in?

Anything else I should add to my hospital bag that I'm more likely to want with an induction?

If the prostoglandin stuff doesn't work, can I decide at that point to leave it, as I don't want my waters broken or the drip?

Would they be able to tell from a scan whether my placenta was still functioning just fine, whereby a few more days wouldn't hurt?

I'll be 40+5, and the induction is because I have gestational diabetes. It's standard practice to induce between 38 and 40 weeks for this, but I've been 'allowed' to go over because my control of it has been good.

just had to pop in and offer support to csws!!! I am missing you on the oct antenatal thread and sending you the strongest labour vibes that i can muster! I love you csws and I'm thinking of you!!!!

rowanmac · 08/10/2008 19:06

If good will from Oct thread was enough to put you into labour you'd have had the baby yesterday. Good luck

MadameCheese · 08/10/2008 19:21

Really good luck with it all, I had a brilliant time being induced, the care was great so hope your birth goes really well whatever you decide. I did wimp out and have an epidural though which was fab! (I was planning a homebirth

Phoenix · 08/10/2008 20:03

Oh was hoping for a birth announcement when i got home from work.

You must be fed up csws (and mrcsws). How is dd?

EachPeachPearMum · 08/10/2008 20:26

UPDATE HELP NEEDED

"Can you all send "shut the fuck up" vibes to the woman who has been loudly on her mobile ALL NIGHT and isn't showing any signs of letting up despite me obviously trying to get to sleep for last half hour"

I have advised her waddling over and telling the woman that unless she shuts her mouth, she will reach in it and yank her baby out that way.

SuperPsychoFabioSaver · 08/10/2008 22:31

will that help at all??

Jas · 08/10/2008 22:31

When she does shut up, she'll probably go to sleep and snore really loudly.

misdee · 08/10/2008 22:32

flame, tell her i'll pop in the car and sellotape that l;adies gob for her!

cant belive no baby yet!

Jas · 08/10/2008 22:32

Sorry. Not very sympathetic of me. I hope she stops soon.

Flamesparrow · 08/10/2008 22:33

She has already shut up and turned off the light

CSWS is very impressed and wants to know why the labour vibes ain't workin that well
