I had an emergency and lined up for an elective in 2 weeks, getting fed up of explaining why.

yummiemumma · 03/06/2008 14:03

Yes she sounds stupid and I would be offended. I'll be having my fourth c section in november and am tempted to tell everyone when they ask, which they do, that I don't want to ruin my vagina!!!

Seashell71 · 03/06/2008 14:07

I don't mind people asking why I had an elective, it gives me the opportinity to raise their awareness to the fact that women should be free to choose how to give birth.

cheesesarnie · 03/06/2008 14:07

people have never said that in response to me having 3 but id be cross.they usually say oh because your small?just ignore, done know so they can question all they like.actually i might say yes just to see what they say.

yummiemumma · 03/06/2008 14:13

i cant have anymore anyway cos my scarring is well bloody awful and when i had ds2 the surgeon botched me up grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i caught nacrotizing facilitis a flesh eating bug ffs i was theatre for two hours after having dd cos my scarring was so bad

OP posts:
cheesesarnie · 03/06/2008 14:17

they said i couldnt(gps) but consultant said i can.

posieparker · 03/06/2008 14:19

Cheesesarnie, why don't you?
I'm off to see the consumtant tomorrow and feel I may be told off as her husband (also consultant not weird busy body that hangs around hospitals!!) saw me for my third (first elective) and warned me about scarring and ever needing a hysterectomy (sp?)!!
My last baby took 37 minutes to cut out due to thick scarring, first emcs and second VBAC that resulted in a general aneasthetic and section. The most frightening too but I really soooooo wanted number four!!

yummiemumma · 03/06/2008 14:19

trouble is after ur 4th section ull have to be extra crefeul etc thats why i dont want no more children and 3 is enough for me lol

OP posts:
posieparker · 03/06/2008 14:19

nice speeeeeling, consultant

whomovedmychocolate · 03/06/2008 14:21

It's hardly a soft option, the recovery from multiple caesarians is much worse than the problems of vaginal birth and frankly your friend ought to butt out.

cheesesarnie · 03/06/2008 14:22

well - i had tear to bladder due to scar tissue.6 months after 3rd csection gp and fp nurse were saying you do realise 3 is limit dont you-nothing said at time of last csection.i was really upset.saw consultant and he said no reason not too so long as aware of risks.

let me know what they say tomorrow!

cheesesarnie · 03/06/2008 14:23

yummiemumma-i'll not go near dh again.

yummiemumma · 03/06/2008 14:24

thats the problem tho consultants and obstecrians advise for no more than three if u had previous c sections and what if u wanted more children ??? that dugger family with 16 kids well she had 7 c sections and had trouble with finding a doctor/consultant to do her section i mean sven caesarians god shes a breave woman

OP posts:
posieparker · 03/06/2008 14:25

Yeah, they had to cut mine away.eeeewwww, but no tear. I'll keep you posted, a close friend of mine had four no problem.

yummiemumma · 03/06/2008 14:26
