I have been having period like pains and backache since friday evening, last night I had an hour and a half of really intense contractions every few minutes, that suddenly stopped, had a few this morning as well, but now back to the period like pains and backache, how long could this go on for?

March thread here before you click on it, let's have a poll at how heavy you think baby was... I know so won't participate.

Jaysthird · 12/03/2008 08:57

fryalot · 12/03/2008 10:04

yeah, lulu - your guess would have been big, but...

is there a prize for the largest baby birthed by an MNer?

Peachy · 12/03/2008 10:14

Blimey merry! Congratulations and well done . No wonder your body wanted to make sure it was well rpeapred

After days of ntohing, had another night of contractions last night- which stopped as soon as DH went to work again. My Mum is certain its because the boys kick off then, and it is stress related. Was hoping for a baby today as have a presentation to do for Theology and its about the only get out they'd allow me LOL! Have scan tomorrow though which is something to focus on, baby has been literally spinning the last few days which is odd since he ahs been head down for many weeks- presumably also a sign he is indeed small? From my inexperienced guessing he is also transverse today (gah!), so have been bouncing lots on the birthing ball.

Last Uni day today for a bit anyhow - won't get a break as such because lost entire dissertatin during a PC Virus nightmare a few days back, but at elast can do that from home and not have to trek up a blardy semi- mountain each time with clicking pelvic bones and the like.

Sorry, just waffling LOL.

belgo · 12/03/2008 10:24

congratulations merryberry!

Lulumama · 12/03/2008 12:14

Merryberry!! Congratulations and WOW!! Very impressed.

Belago, yep the consultant told me I wouldn't go overdue. Then yesterday the midewife told me, "it won't go overdue" AND "it won't be in the next few days".

Since I am due in six days, those statments don't really work together.

No signs here, not even the cramping I was having yesterday.

Come on baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yay merry what a whopper

just been to mws and baby is 4/5s engaged and she could barley feel the 1/5 left poking out hoping this along with cramps and bhs might mean little one puts in an early appearence. its not nice walking about with a babies head between your legs

Lulumama · 12/03/2008 17:40

am very pleased for you , rolf

fitnfortyone · 12/03/2008 20:30

spent overnight in hosp having bp monitored. Finally released this afternoon after a successful sweep. Which hurt. So, if i was 2cm around 4ish, are these likely to be real contractions? Was warned to expect cramps and a show (which i've also had) but am hoping that the not being able to speak during them indicates more than a cramp?

Timing earlier was 3-5 mins, for a min or so at a time then stopped. Back with a vengeance now, but longer intervals, haven't been timing so must start again...

Really really hope this means i can have the homebirth, just got to control my bp!

turtle23 · 12/03/2008 20:41

Good luck fnf1!

Lulumama · 12/03/2008 20:52

i would like to offer squonk an honourary doula badge.

T2M · 12/03/2008 22:26

fnf1 sounds like your body is working things out sometimes contractions can be a bit irratic and all over the place before they get into a pattern but they all count. With you in thought and supporting your HB positive vibes

(massages fnf1 back before putting the kettle on)

sounds good fnf1

fryalot · 13/03/2008 08:46

Maybe when ds is at nursery I will re-train as a real doula. I am enjoying this labour-waiting, bacon butty making, hand holding, baby birthing
