Hi has anyone any advice please
Waters went on Monday evening but wasn't contracting so was sent home for 24 hours I returned to the hospital and they put a pessary in 30 hours after waters had gone and I was 3cm dilated it got taken out at 2.30am this morning but apparently there are no beds on delivery ward I haven't been checked since to see if things are progressing just given tablets for the pain as my contractions are now 5 mins apart I cant stand and can't sit down because of the pain but no-one seems to be interested how much longer will they leave me 😢

@Llh1979

Still nothing the midwifes words were well everyone seems to of decided to have their babies today and walked away
Hope everything is okay OP. Can you get to another hospital if they can't see you? Honestly, maybe an hour's drive would be better than another 24 hours without healthcare at this point. I second the suggestion to ring another hospital and go there. Get your mum to ring the one you're in now and make a good fuss for you too. Good luck OP xx

Absolutely disgraceful. Tell them that they will be liable if your baby gets an infection as it's so long since your waters went. The woman in the next bed to me didn't tell anyone that hers had gone and stayed at home for a couple of days waiting for labour to start. She and the baby both had to be treated for an infection.

ajja2021 · 30/09/2021 17:41

Hope you are okay OP, please make sure you report and complain about the treatment you have received

dizzydizzydizzy · 30/09/2021 17:51

Gosh! I had the opposite experience. My waters broke but Labour didn't start. Later that same day the doctors wanted to do a c-section. I had to persuade them to wait. They gave me a deadline of 6am the following morning to go into Labour. The baby was actually born at 4am -phew! I was 10 days overdue , so that might have made a difference

Peanutsandchilli · 30/09/2021 20:56
**@Peanutsandchilli* does the pain not count for anything? OP has said I cant stand and can't sit down because of the pain*
Of course, and they should (and have) been giving pain relief on the ward, but certainly some pain relief should not be given until in established labour.

Llh1979 · 30/09/2021 21:15

This all comes as a surprise to me. I gave birth to DS about a week after waters broke. He was premature though.

Best of luck and thinking of you.

Did you get antibiotics?

Good luck OP! I agree- 24 hours is meant to be the time you start getting interventions so good work on advocating for yourself and getting in there!

THOSEcobwebsareDECOR · 01/10/2021 05:31

Hope all is well and you are resting with your beautiful baby op

Namechangeforthis88 · 01/10/2021 06:10

@Mrbob, aye, like horse pills they were. Thinking back they did say they wanted to give his heart and lungs a few more days before induction. I was just surprised by everyone saying op should be induced in however many hours. DS is hale and hearty at 12 years old. Hope all goes well for op and baby.

THOSEcobwebsareDECOR · 01/10/2021 07:19

I think the main thing is theyve left her so long and not even given antibiotics

KurtWilde · 01/10/2021 08:22

My DD wasn't given antibiotics and baby was born with an infection.

Fingers crossed baby has arrived safe and well and OP is resting Thanks

Llh1979 · 03/10/2021 07:38
