ring the midwife, i dont know much about sweeps, never had one.

NineUnlikelyTales · 17/08/2007 14:43

Ring the MW. It is probably fine but ring to reassure yourself.

foxybrown · 17/08/2007 14:43

yes, ring the midwife, or delivery suite at your hospital.

you could expect some light bleeding and a show, but a bad bleed doesnt sound right.

Good luck, hope you are ok.

Sazisi · 17/08/2007 14:44

Hope you are okay

Meeely2 · 17/08/2007 14:45

could be your placenta has broken away if you are overdue - call midwife immediately

chocolatemummy · 17/08/2007 14:45

have you rung yet? let us know xx

Mumpbump · 17/08/2007 14:46

Ring antenatal clinic at hospital or m/w. I had a sweep and had no bleeding afterwards. Probably nothing, but you can't be too careful.

ElenorRigby · 17/08/2007 14:47

DP works at maternity hospital he has rang MW's and is coming home to get me ASAP!

ElenorRigby post again to tell us how you are doing. We'll keep you company.

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 14:49

Good, good. you will be ok, try not to worry. Let us know later if you can that you & baba are well.

NineUnlikelyTales · 17/08/2007 14:49

Take your hospital bag just in case (sorry for stating the obvious). Best of luck, I bet you meet your baby soon

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 14:50

and maybe grab something to eat, for energy?

LadyTophamHatt · 17/08/2007 14:51

I didn't bleed after sweeps but the show I had with ds2 was very bloody. More like a period.

Let sus knwo how things go....

Good luck

def get some food because might your last chance and you'll need it if baba is coming

NineUnlikelyTales · 17/08/2007 14:53

I had lot of fresh looking blood with my show too. Don't panic ElenorRigby, I'm sure it could be lots of things.

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 14:53

don't worry, you will get there. is it far?

saffymum · 17/08/2007 14:55

Is he going to be there soon or do you feel you need a ride in a lovely shiny ambulance?

Just stay calm, sit down next to your hospital bag and have a cup of tea. Fretting isn't going to help, I'm sure it will all be fine.

lissie · 17/08/2007 14:55

i had a sweep with ds and bled for about an hour afterward. doc was very rough. try not to panic, you will be holding your baby soon. x

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/08/2007 15:02

I had a sweep with ds & bled for ages after too. I needed a sanitary pad.

He still wasn't born for another 2 weeks!

tissy · 17/08/2007 15:04

You don't mention pain.. placental abruption usually painful, IIRC. Don't panic!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 17/08/2007 15:05

Good Luck ER - Hope that everything is ok

scorpio1 · 17/08/2007 18:59
