And how quickly did you get into active labour, were the signs there long before?

8 hours. The contractions started suddenly at 6 minute intervals at 11 a.m. and DD was born at 7 p.m. Had absolutely no contractions prior to that and birth went perfectly smoothly with no need even for painkillers of any sort. Needless to say, DD has remained an only child. There's no way I would be so lucky a second time around. Grin

5hours and 17 mins from the first contraction :) had mild period aches a couple of hours before it all kicked off, and waters started to leak 30 mins before the first contraction. The day before that I had specks of blood in the toilet every time I went for a wee that increased over the course of the day

Whole thing 4 hours 20 minutes. Active labour 2 hours.

First contraction around 6pm on Friday night. Went to the midwife unit at midnight when I had 3 contractions per hour, baby born at 11am.
