... is labour on its way?! please tell me it is, I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and very fed up! I had a show yesterday morning and it hasn't stopped since. I've got contractions but they more or less stop when I sit down or lie down so true labour hasn't started yet. I feel very uncomfortable standing, with a big pressure on my lower tummy and feeling very crampy. Don't know what I'm asking really, maybe just for some reassurance that it's not going to last until 42 weeks!

So... do we think BB suddenly got loads of contractions and is off to hospital, or that she fell asleep on the keyboard?

seamonster · 18/06/2007 19:51

or have they stopped and she's too embarrassed to tell us.

Klaw · 18/06/2007 19:52

Hi Squonk, Hi Mars!

Anyhow, nice to meet you Seamonster and Bree, we've not chatted much before have we?

So, I wonder how Lulu's RL lady is getting on...

Any update BirthdayBabe, have we reassured you?

seamonster · 18/06/2007 19:56

[mumbles through scones]
good to meet you, I may need you in September for my own 'live' entertainment.
is it sgones or scowns for you?

MarsLady · 18/06/2007 19:57

Lulu and RLer are still waiting!

Hi Klaw...don't mind if I do.

seamonster · 18/06/2007 20:04

is it a roman nose

Klaw · 18/06/2007 20:05

Seamonster, it's scons really I quess.... as opposed to the village near Perth called Scone (Scoon) which is about 35 mins from me, with the Palace, Scone Palace....

Anyhow, hopefully you will have your pick of cyber Doulas in September!

My latest scones now have a teensy bit of cinnamon and nutmeg in them, hopefully not too much for some..

fryalot · 18/06/2007 20:06

tis a very roman nose, which is why cream always gets stuck on the end of it

seamonster · 18/06/2007 20:08

yes, I'm a sgone.
Now pikelets or crumpets?

Has she gone for a brisk walk do you think? Twiddling as she goes?

fryalot · 18/06/2007 20:10

well, pikelets and crumpets are different where I come from.

A pikelet is flatter and a crumpet is a... well, a crumpet.

Personally, I prefer pikelets

fryalot · 18/06/2007 20:10

and I hope if she has gone for a walk whilst twiddling, she is being very discreet about it (or walking somewhere very quiet and unoccupied)

BirthdayBabe · 18/06/2007 20:16

omg, I go away for a few minutes and look what happens . I'll try and catch up now.

welcome back

seamonster · 18/06/2007 20:17

WELL?

Egg · 18/06/2007 20:18

At last! I always miss the live birth threads and now I have found one before the baby is born. I have to be in bed early (9:30ish) so if you don't mind BirthdayBabe can this be a quick labour? Did you get some twiddling done?

Did someone have some LDC?

Klaw · 18/06/2007 20:25

A roman nose, Squonk? I can never hear that without thinking roamin' all over her face! I'm sure that's not the case!

Blardy hell it's mental on Eastenders tonight!

BirthdayBabe · 18/06/2007 20:29

eat something cathcart? I've been stuffing myself for days, can't stop . I won't lack energy, that's for sure.
Right, it's my second, hospital birth. Mucousy red/brownish show. haven't rung the mw, don't see the point at this stage really. I've got an appt for Wed.
Thanks for the tips klaw . I didn't have to do all this for my first, this one's going to be a rebel

you don't mind if we just sit here and wait do you BB?

seamonster · 18/06/2007 20:32

We won't make too much noise

Klaw · 18/06/2007 20:32

And don't forget to pee regularly so that bladder is empty for placenta coming out afterwards, otherwise it can take a while! That depends on whether you plan on a natural 3rd stage tho......

BirthdayBabe · 18/06/2007 20:32

sorry, no twiddling yet egg, I'll try and do my best so you can go to bed early. But if you're hoping for a baby before bedtime, have a nice cuppa instead, you're less likely to be disappointed.
