39+1 with DC 3.. other 2 labours were natural & very quick.

Issues with growth this time & waters also low.. so advised to go for induction.

Came in yesterday & had pessary.. a few hours later contractions got going.. thought it was all going to happen.. then all stopped. Got a bit of sleep but am in a bay so it's noisy.

This morning they've said the pessary can come out at 1130 & they'll examine me.. if they can break waters I'll have to wait for a slot on labour ward.. if not I'll have to repeat the process with another pessary.. not sure how I feel about this. I'm finding the pessary very uncomfortable.. my nether regions are swollen too 😰. I feel really teary this morning, especially with the thought of 2 other children at home. I knew it could be a long process.. I'm just finding it hard.

My consultant said last week they wouldn't let things go past Wednesday.. so I'd have c-section if nothing progressed by then.. so I suppose I have that to hang onto. Starting to wish I'd opted for section in first place now as I was told I was able to request one on grounds I had 3rd degree tear last time.

I feel like a dramatic princess wanting to cry 😭

Woke up and thought of you bbmama
Glad you got to go home!
Hope things go better for you today FlowersSmile

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 06/07/2017 07:35

@Babybeesmama despite the obviously us poor treatment you've had you sound a bit brighter and more firm on your resolve today. So glad DH came in and was your knight in shining armour!

Best of luck for today really hope appointment goes well.

I can imagine just how much seeing your children has lifted your spirits. Keep going it will all be done and dusted soon.

Keep us posted

DuggeeHugs · 06/07/2017 08:00

I'm glad you've been able to spend the night at home - hopefully today will see an improvement in care for you and your baby will be here soon Flowers

As an aside though (from reading this thread and my own experience) I'm furious at the number of women who seem to be sent down the induction route, often without sufficient information, and end up stuck for days or even weeks while there isn't sufficient staffing or support for it to be completed properly Angry

Xeneth88 · 06/07/2017 08:18

Best of luck OP. Hope things get better for you asap.

Flisspaps · 06/07/2017 08:52

So glad you've managed to come home - the power of a decent night's sleep and proper food should not be underestimated!

Babybeesmama · 06/07/2017 09:26

So nice to have breakfast with my DC's! They were very confused as to why I don't have a baby tho!
On our way back in for supposed review... DH tried to put my suitcase in car & I took it out .. I'm not staying x

Feel much stronger this morning & able to articulate how I feel & what i feel has failed in my care.

The service is clearly over stretched, under funded & not really fit for purpose. But women's expectations need to be managed & if they'd properly assessed me they could've sent me home on Tuesday.. instead of me blocking a bed & becoming practically depressed!

And after being told last night I could wait 7 days from being at a point where my waters could be broken ... well I'd never of agreed to induction if I'd known that.. or I'd of tried to come up with a plan that everyone was happy with even if it was coming in every day but being induced on due date (maybe it would've been more successful that way) x

Good luck OP, glad you stood your ground. But it's so depressing sitting on an induction ward waiting endlessly to be seen. Time seems to slow down in hospital! My induction involved a fair bit of waiting around, the first pessary did nothing. Had another 24hrs later (with lots of warning that I would most likely need the drip blah blah blah), baby born 4 hours later! So I hope your labour goes quickly when it eventually kicks off. Stay strong x

Babybeesmama · 06/07/2017 10:29

Well.. went in all prepared for a fight & the most lovely consultant was waiting for me & had already booked me into an elcs this afternoon! 😲

They still gave me the choice to wait for labour ward to ring.. but the chances are I'd wait up to 6 days.. & to be honest I was still concerned the examination & breaking waters would still be too painful.

So fuck me... I'm actually having a baby today 😳🙈!

Babybeesmama · 06/07/2017 11:34

Thank you so much all of you! You've been a lifeline this week!!!

I'm last on the list.. so learning to manage my expectations a bit better.... would be tomorrow if I get bumped for an emergency...

Wasn't what I was expecting at all! 🙈 the kids are super excited to find out whether they have a brother or sister!

Slightly nervous about recovery from it.. but got plenty of help from my mum & friends..
Xxxx thanks again to all of you!

If you're bumped to tomorrow, go home again tonight for a proper sleep again!

Very excited and pleased for you Smile

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 06/07/2017 12:16

@Babybeesmama I was last on the list when I was expecting my daughter but by 3pm I was down in theatre. I didn't have the op as it turned out she'd decided to not be breech at the last minute, e had been three planned and two emergencies before me. I'm sure you will have your baby in your arms by tonight.

I'm expecting my third at end of October / start of November, and I'm so envious you're having a surprise. We have a boy and a girl already and I didn't want to know. He was having none of that as the scan this week when the Crown Jewels were on show from the get go.

Now have you got your suitcase with you yet? 😆

Babybeesmama · 06/07/2017 12:30

Ah congrats gin! I've had to be so restrained not to find out.. I'm a radiographer so I've had a few cheeky scans at work! I do love a good surprise.

DH trying to get everything together 🙈.. I'd more or less tipped out my suitcase to wash everything (it's been so hot in this hospital I've felt like a sweaty Betty!). Ive text him a list.

Mentally going through benefits of being bumped till tomo:

It's sunny today.. I can do my washing & hang it out to dry (gives me immense satisfaction)

I can stuff my face tonight & make a red velvet cake with DS & DD

I can pack my bag properly & make sure I have everything

I can sleep the whole night!
Xx
