I sound so naive and stupid! But please help me

I had a propess put in at 2:30pm today.

This is my first baby, I am 37+1, not much has been happening so far until around 30 minutes ago.

I'm getting pain in my back, top of my stomach goes hard & then pressure at the front in my pelvis.

Midwife said to time they from the end of the last to the start of the next I did that, it turns out to be max 1 minute

So I'm guessing I'm either doing it wrong or they aren't contractions??

Please don't sit quietly in pain, it sounds like you have had major surgery and they should be trying to keep you as comfortable as possible.
Any names yet? What is he like? I'm sure he is beautiful. Glad to hear you have the support of your mum.

Your mum sounds lovely, if you are in pain they need to help you, after my c section I was told off for not taking pain relief!
