I sound so naive and stupid! But please help me

I had a propess put in at 2:30pm today.

This is my first baby, I am 37+1, not much has been happening so far until around 30 minutes ago.

I'm getting pain in my back, top of my stomach goes hard & then pressure at the front in my pelvis.

Midwife said to time they from the end of the last to the start of the next I did that, it turns out to be max 1 minute

So I'm guessing I'm either doing it wrong or they aren't contractions??

Update:

My baby boy arrived at 19:52 on 27th March.

He hasn't been weighed as yet as he had his cord wrapped around his neck and has been taken to NICU for extra support.

Once the feeling comes back to my legs, I can go see him.

Have only met my baby boy once, they surprised me by bringing him up!

I'm still on delivery suite due to a rare complication after the birth, I've not been able to walk for 2 days because of the pain.

I'd have been able to go & see him when I wanted but have been completely unable to get out of bed

I'm hoping swelling & pain subsides today so I can get up & have a shower!

Oh no.. I had hoped the drama was over for you. I've followed your story since Christmas and you have been through so so much.
Have they given you any indication of how quickly you will recover?

I help you feel better soon, is your boy ok? You mention he had to have special care! I hope he is well and that you feel better soon.

He was born with his cord around his neck, so they took him off to NICU to check him over.

They then took me to the recovery ward as I'd lost half a litre of blood.

I was starting to get ready to be wheeled down to see my son when out of no where I was in excruciating pain begging to just die, I was actually screaming it was so bad.

Was rushed off to theatre & knocked out, when I came round was told I'd lost another litre in theatre as had 2 big blood clots.

My downstairs has now tripled in size, its black & blue & now has blisters on it!

However! My baby boy is absolutely fine, he's ready to come out of NICU & back to me.

Oh dear, your poor 'downstairs'. I hope the pain etc eases soon and you get lot's of cuddles with your darling boy!

Oh that sounds horrendous, I'm sorry you're in so much pain, I'm really pleased that your baby boy is ok, I hope your partner (if you have one) is ok to look after him until you are well. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I'm just glad my baby is okay, he's doing great! I just want cuddles now.

My ex isn't around, however my mum has been here since Saturday, she has offered to stay tonight to help me out. When we leave hospital, we will be staying at my mums for a couple of weeks.

Keep asking for pain relief & getting none.
