How soon after birth did you do the deed?

Exactly that really, how long did you wait after having your LO to have sex? My DD is 4 weeks, I think most people wait 6 but is that compulsory? I don't think I can manage another 2 weeks lol! but I don't want to do myself any damage as I had quite a nasty tear, anyone else have a similar experience?

9 weeks but it was agony. We've only done it 3 times since that one. And DS is nearly a year old. I'd love my sex life back but my vagina is really broken and I have PTSD.

randomsabreuse · 09/12/2016 09:06

Desire and opportunity (not having baby awake and feeding) took about 6 weeks to coincide... then seem to coincide even less frequently as they get older and more aware...

alltouchedout · 09/12/2016 09:08

3 weeks after ds1, 10 days after ds2, 6 weeks after ds3 (who had been born with both hands on his head and left me somewhat sore).

itsbetterthanabox · 09/12/2016 09:11

Why not do other stuff not penetrative sex?

Kittenrush · 09/12/2016 09:50

You poor things and your poorly vaginas. I didn't have a good labour but luckily I took all the drugs available to me and have managed to avoid too much trauma I think.
Box, we have done other stuff, about 3 weeks in I think. I couldn't wait any longer ha! Just wondering about going all the way :)

2 weeks with all of mine - basically whenever the bleeding stopped enough. If you feel up to it then go for it Smile

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/12/2016 15:49

I'm envious of all you 2 week bleeders I had a section and still bled for probably 2-3 months on and off!

bowtieandheels · 09/12/2016 15:58

3 weeks, but I didn't have any tearing or complications.

SpeakNoWords · 09/12/2016 16:00

Me too Dame.

Brown76 · 09/12/2016 16:10

About 4 months I think? Or maybe more. Tear didn't heal for 3 months, and still hurt for a year after the birth.

user1471552178 · 09/12/2016 22:36

3 weeks both times, but I was fortunate/lucky as I didn't tear or have any complications

MissClarke86 · 09/12/2016 22:41

TMI question heading your way ladies.

How "different" did your ladybits feel DTD after birth? Both to you and your OH.

whatishappeninghey · 09/12/2016 22:41

Three months Shock
Birth was fine but at any free moment i would nave rather slept

puglife1 · 09/12/2016 22:50

We dtd 16 days after baby was born.

Kittenrush · 10/12/2016 06:10

TMI answer headed your way missclarke! Mine actually feel much better so far, I've always found sex to be quite painful if I go for too long due to my hyman never properly coming away, however it got really damaged when my LOs 9lb1 head came out and came away so I'm hoping beyond hope that it's less painful now. Will have to wait and see how it is for us both i guess

6 months. Am totally baffled why it would even occur to anyone until at least a few months after. Did you all have babies that slept? I was like the walking dead for a good year pp

JingleBellCock · 10/12/2016 11:42

10 weeks the first time (bit of a traumatic birth)

6 weeks the second time, just to be on the safe side, but felt like it much sooner Grin

NameChangedBecause · 10/12/2016 11:45

12 weeks ish.. I was ruined though and had episiotomy- I couldn't even sit down for about 8 weeks never mind have sex!

ButtfaceMiscreant · 10/12/2016 11:49

10 weeks after DC1, 8 months after DTs (far too tired before then, and only a couple of times since as my goodness they just do not sleep!)

BrioLover · 10/12/2016 12:27

3 months. I had an episiotomy and that got infected so took a while to heal properly. DS didn't sleep either. It took around a year PP to get back into a sex life resembling normal. We were both zombies and my scar hurt for a good 6 months too.

Kittenrush · 10/12/2016 17:13

Lol misspilly I am a zombie but I'm a zombie with needs!

LittleBee23 · 11/12/2016 12:26

7 weeks first time and 4 weeks second time. Both was when the bleeding had stopped. Second time it stopped earlier

SpookyPotato · 11/12/2016 13:51

6 months and I had a c-section, nothing happened with my vagina at all Grin It was more the tiredness of a newborn and hormones not playing ball. Hoping it's quicker this time. I'm in awe of those with sections who did it after a few weeks, I was still hobbling around like an old woman then!

Princesspinkgirl · 12/12/2016 21:38

2-3 weeks after DS
