Did anyone give birth on their due date?

So the odds of it happening are 4% or 1 in 25 births.

I don't know of a single person this has happened to.

If you had your baby on your due date, what time was it? And was it your first or subsequent babies? And was your due date fairly accurate - were your periods regular?

I'm wildly interested because TODAY IS MY DUE DATE!! For baby number 2. My periods are clockwork & before my 12wk scan I'd worked it out to be 6th Feb. So not holding out too much hope. Plus my first baby was 2 weeks overdue.

Bah.

I did 8pm at night with dc1.Dc2 was a week early.

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 29/01/2016 21:11

Ooh there's a great website that tells you your current chance of spontaneous labour...

here I became a bit obsessed with it

RozTheSchnoz · 29/01/2016 21:12

Contractions started on DS2's due date and he was born at 2 the next day...

VagueIdeas · 29/01/2016 21:13

Yep. First baby.

angelopal · 30/01/2016 08:05

Yes with dc2. Dc1 arrived a day early.

mrsnec · 30/01/2016 08:09

Emcs at 39+5 last time. This time he's officially due on leap year day so hopefully not.

CaurnieBred · 30/01/2016 09:55

DD did. Contractions started day before. I was fairly confident of conception date as we had been on holiday and the day after we got back DH went of on a business trip for a week so no other opportunity.

My mother takes the credit as she took me out for daily walks every day in the preceding week as she had Xmas events that she wanted to be back home for: it would have been quite inconvenient for her if I had gone over Grin

pizzapops · 30/01/2016 10:13

Yes I did! Thirteen years ago! My body has always been like clockwork and early in the morning I started having contractions and I had given birth at 8.30 in the evening with DS1. It does happen.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/01/2016 10:17

I did. Although thought we were going to miss it at one point. Contractions started v early hours of the Thursday, DD was born 9pm on the Friday, her due date.

Dates were bang on as well as I had IVF. Day one of cycle a Friday, egg collection and fertilisation Friday 2 weeks later then 38 weeks later DD.

Tfoot75 · 30/01/2016 10:18

No, and I knew my due date was correct as well. Had DD one week late. Baby doesn't have a calendar in there telling them it's 38 weeks since conception haha

Chillyegg · 30/01/2016 10:21

Yep I did can't remember what time It was of my face on drugs. And it was my first..

CarrotPuff · 31/01/2016 08:42

My waters broke on due date, but as it was 20pm he was born the next day. I hope this one is as punctual (less than 5 weeks to go...)

CarrotPuff · 31/01/2016 08:43

10 pm*

maisiewalker · 31/01/2016 08:44

Yes, both of them

NightWanderer · 31/01/2016 08:47

Yes, I was so shocked as the other three were late but my last was bang on time. She's also the only early riser out of them.

wonkylegs · 31/01/2016 08:52

Nope last one came 3&1/2 wks early and I expect this one to,too

Icantstopeatinglol · 31/01/2016 08:52

Yep my gorgeous ds was born on his due date. It was a lovely water birth. Dd however was 8 days late via emergency csection! Very different births but worth anything I had to go through. It's all fluke to be honest!

OpposableThumbs2 · 31/01/2016 08:56

I did. First contraction at 2am and delivered at 2pm. I'll let you know about DD2, three weeks tomorrow Wink

Rainbowlou1 · 31/01/2016 09:01

Both of mine did! First one at 3am and the second one at 7am x

MaelstromOfLunacy · 31/01/2016 09:09

Nope, one 5 days early, one 6 days late. My mum had 2 of 4 on due dates though (the other 2 were 10 and 12 days late)

GlowWine · 31/01/2016 09:09

Both of mine did, to the day - but it was my due date I had calculated from my ovulation and implanting (used temperature for charting my cycle). The dates from scans were earlier and both kids were a few days / a week late according to them. My MW was getting all twitchy and I knew I was not even over the 40 weeks.....

insancerre · 31/01/2016 09:15

Yes I did with my second
I'm fairly confident about the date as dh was only in the country for new year and she was born on 30 th september
I didn't have any pain relief either or stitches or any intervention

Mossend · 31/01/2016 10:10

I did with my first. 12 days early with my second

DesertOrDessert · 31/01/2016 10:15

DS2 was on his due date. All labour was on that date too, and he was born at 7am Confused
DS1 was within 24 hrs of his due date.

Periods can be predicted to within 3 days or so, but on a 4 week cycle.
To me, that is not regular, as a (very close!) Friend would class herself Kate if period hadn't started within a hour of when she expected it. But I think it is actually fairly regular compared to many on here.

StetsonsAreCool · 31/01/2016 10:34

DC1 I went into early/slow labour on my due date, but she wasn't born until 2am 3 days later.

Dc2 was born on the day I expected him to be. That is, my due date by my calculations. Scan brought my EDD forward by 5 days, and he was born at 40+5 according to that.
