Did anyone give birth on their due date?

So the odds of it happening are 4% or 1 in 25 births.

I don't know of a single person this has happened to.

If you had your baby on your due date, what time was it? And was it your first or subsequent babies? And was your due date fairly accurate - were your periods regular?

I'm wildly interested because TODAY IS MY DUE DATE!! For baby number 2. My periods are clockwork & before my 12wk scan I'd worked it out to be 6th Feb. So not holding out too much hope. Plus my first baby was 2 weeks overdue.

Bah.

I did second time round.

buntingbingo · 29/01/2016 16:01

I did!

sunnydayinmay · 29/01/2016 16:02

A relative did.

FellOutOfBedTwice · 29/01/2016 16:02

Yes! I did, first baby. Periods were regular. Absolutely wasn't expecting it though and can attribute nothing I did to it happening.

foxessocks · 29/01/2016 16:02

I almost did! I went into labour 5.30am on my due date. Had my dd at 1.58am the next morning.

RayofFuckingSunshine · 29/01/2016 16:03

I did with DD1, yet to see if it happens again with DD2.

LemonBreeland · 29/01/2016 16:03

DC2 was born on his due date.

Tomboyinatutu · 29/01/2016 16:04

My second was born on his due date, he was born at 00:16

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/01/2016 16:06

Both of mine were on their due dates. One at 5.30 am, the other at 6.30 am. Regular periods

OllyBJolly · 29/01/2016 16:07

I did - twice. Both DDs arrived on their due date. I'm quite proud of that completely random happening

Hope you don't have long to wait and all goes well.

SfaOkaySuperFurryAnimals · 29/01/2016 16:09

Yup ten to two am that morning, the child is clever and a smartarse tooGrin I love my son to bits though, he is epic, he is 21 next and i am very, very lucky with all 3 of my lovely kids...

Jbck · 29/01/2016 16:09

Yes second baby, had very short cycle don't know if thats significant.

DD1 was way overdue, induced and EMCS as she was not coming out!

There were 3 of us in a ward of 4 all gave birth on EDD, MWs were all talking about it as it was so unusual.

Date was 11/11 so maybe they all wanted a memorable day, my brother still asks each year Grin

SfaOkaySuperFurryAnimals · 29/01/2016 16:09

16th August

ijustwannadance · 29/01/2016 16:10

Me too. Although I went into labour at tea time the night before.

SweepTheHalls · 29/01/2016 16:11

Yes! Although she was an ELCS, so maybe not so surprising!

SheilaTakeABow · 29/01/2016 16:11

I did for DS2. Contractions started the night before then he was born on the evening of his due date. And I've only just remembered that DS1 was born on the date predicted by the 3D scan, but that was ten days earlier than the NHS dating scan. So, very punctual, my boys.
Good luck - I was always so pleased I didn't have any waiting around

Hamsolo · 29/01/2016 16:12

My sister and I both did.

BeautifulLiar · 29/01/2016 16:13

Yep I did :) she was born at approx 10:20pm. I have to say approx because DH delivered her on our bed! You'd think we'd be more prepared given that it was my due date Grin

1wokeuplikethis · 29/01/2016 16:15

There's loads of you!

I know someone who had both of their dc on the due date. Mine were both late, ds at 42 weeks and dd at 40+4 though labour started on dd's due date.

BeautifulLiar · 29/01/2016 16:31

The baby I'm pregnant with now is to be induced on my due date, or very close to it, so I may have another! I don't think that counts though.

VashtaNerada · 29/01/2016 19:36

I did! Annoyingly I'd booked a meal out to cheer me up if the baby hadn't arrived by then and had to cancel.

lilac3033 · 29/01/2016 19:48

I did! Had a sweep the day before and it all kicked off a couple hours later.

Tadpoletoatoad · 29/01/2016 21:01

I did with DD. Very quick labour as well. DS was 14 days over due and well cooked Confused

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 29/01/2016 21:08

I think you'll find about 4% of us Wink

I did, first baby. He actually arrived in the middle of the random time slot I'd written "due date!" Next to in my diary.

And I can't really answer the period question - haven't had a natural one since I was about 14 due to contraception so they were artificially regularised by the pill.
