.. and counting. MW forecasted our son to arrive on the 28th. The closer I get to that date the harder i find it to move, and the pain in the pelvic area is becoming excruciating. Heartburn has increased in intensity too Sad I feel pretty crappy although DH is a complete angel >.< and I feel SO tired -_- are these signs of impeding labor? i don`t have a show yet and the bump is quite normal ( although sometimes harder than usual ).
->feeling exhausted.

Well done way2tired and passthenutella. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.

Saveitforarainyday · 09/03/2015 21:31

Congratulations to you both, wonderful! Hope you're settling in at home with your new bundles.

Dull back-ache started tonight, but determined not to read anything into it. Just trying to relax and go with the flow now.

Seeing midwife tomorrow (39+6) and looking forward to hearing if I've made any progress. She's never done a vaginal exam on me before, but I think they do this around this time - am I right? I'd be v interested to know if I'm making any sort of progress down there.

Good luck to you ZombieZoo, your turn now! x

ZombieZoo · 09/03/2015 23:37

I've not had vaginal exam yet. I'm 40+8 I think (EDD 1st March)
Visiting MW tomorrow. Will update.
I've no symptoms?! But stuffy cold and cough nearly gone.
Although everything is a sign, it's becoming comical now.

ZombieZoo · 10/03/2015 16:11

Succumbed and had a sweep this afternoon

gallicgirl · 10/03/2015 16:20

I'm 40+1. Declined sweep as mw wouldn't do Bishops Score to see how ready cervix is. Can't really see point of a sweep if you don't know if it's looking favourable or not.

Had a huge lunch out with DP and a chilled afternoon eating ice cream on the sea front. Hoping to get a few happy hormones flowing.

Saveitforarainyday · 10/03/2015 16:53

I'm 39+6 and midwife wouldn't do exam today, said she'd offer sweep at next appointment (a week today) - obviously if baby doesn't come before-hand. My little girl has been 2/5 engaged for the last three weeks, feels like she's moving lower down by the day - so much pressure down there now.

Ho hum, trying not to get too impatient... hard though. Good luck t you gallicgirl and Zombiezoo. Never heard of a Bishops Score before I have to say... but then this is my first time and everything has been a huge learning curve for me.

gallicgirl · 10/03/2015 17:48

I'm quite relaxed about it at the moment. Babies come when they're ready and there's no point forcing them out unless there's evidence that they're in danger.

ZombieZoo · 10/03/2015 18:20

Yes u agree galic.
My cervix was 2cm dilated luckily. I feel bullied into having induction this weekend as I'm not allowed to birth at the midwife led unit after 40+14. Which is on Sunday. But I don't think baby needs to be induced til 43 weeks. Hoping the sweep works as I don't want to deal with the hassle at weekend. Was going to hold off and have accupunture induction on Tuesday and then go the midwife led unit.
Gd luck all

gallicgirl · 10/03/2015 19:29

Have you read the NICE guidelines regarding inductions?
Unfortunately some hospitals are very risk averse which is understandable but you should never feel bullied. Consent is solely yours to give.

ZombieZoo · 10/03/2015 19:37

They've said they've emailed me them but it's not come through.
I feel bullied from my DM and DP too. Feeling rather down, I wonder if that's hormones too

Saveitforarainyday · 10/03/2015 20:14

Can you refuse to have an induction? It does seem quite extreme, and as Gallicgirl said these babies will come when they're ready. I'm sorry you're feeling bullied and a bit down, that's the last thing you need at this time. Could be hormones too (I've been feeling rather sorry for myself today) but this pressure won't help I'm sure.

My estimated due date was calcuated from the last day of my last period, so I honestly don't think it' accurate even though scans seemed to confirm growth was in line with this. If I go two weeks 'overdue' I would actaully argue that it's not overdue at all, that's just normal gestation. But again, what do I know really? don't want to go against medical professionals on the back of a hunch...

Chin up Zombie, rooting for ya!

Guidelines are there for you. It's not good that you're getting pressure from DM and DP too, think I'd be having words!

Saveitforarainyday · 11/03/2015 16:04

Sorry just wanted to post to moan really, I am so miserable today - 40 weeks exactly, and I have thi sudden and intense pelvic pain and pressure. Everything feels wierd and almost unstable down there, like my bones are coming apart. Been out for a walk and for lunch and just getting home was so painful. Does this sound normal? I've had this pressure feelng for a good few weeks now, but nothing like the pain I'm in today.

gallicgirl · 11/03/2015 16:54

Probably just the baby's head moving further down into position.
Try to rest and take a couple of paracetamol.

ZombieZoo · 12/03/2015 00:11

Baby girl born today, this evening. In water birth after sweep yesterday. On a high. Good luck all others. It's worth the wait. Love n hugs.

ZombieZoo · 12/03/2015 00:11

At 40+10

Saveitforarainyday · 12/03/2015 00:21

Congratulations ZombieZoo! fantastic news!

gallicgirl · 12/03/2015 10:22

Hoorah! Glad it all went well and congratulations.

Hear that, baby gallic? Now get a move on!

Saveitforarainyday · 13/03/2015 00:02

Hello there - a little advice if anyone is awake? I've been bleeding lightly for about two hours now, not sure what to do. It's not mucousy, so i don't think it's my plug. Is it worth calling the maternity unit, or do I just sleep it off? No real cramping, just a sort of achey heavy feeling. Don't want to overreact about this if it's just a normal pre-labour sign. Any advice gladly taken!

ZombieZoo · 13/03/2015 04:54

Save it: how are you? I would call them.. Just to be on safe side.

Saveitforarainyday · 13/03/2015 14:13

Hey I'm fine thanks - just got back from hospital. My waters went in the night (thought I had wet myself) and I'm in labour now. They weren't too worrried about the bleeding, but want me to pop back in as things progress. If I haven't made serious strides by tomorrow morning they've said I need to be induced - can't have baby out of waters for too long apparently.

All fine by me, I'm feeling very reassured. not too uncomfortable with these contractions either, but no doubt that will change in the coming hours... every five mins at the moment though. Thanks for your support x

ZombieZoo · 13/03/2015 18:24

Fab!! You'll meet baby soon then! Good luck

ZombieZoo · 15/03/2015 01:58

Save it: hope things are progressing or you've had your LO
