How's the full moon working out for everyone? It's doing sod all here.

katie I have no idea. It just seemed like a good idea at the time. All worn out and listless now.

LemonDrizzleCake11 · 14/02/2014 20:49

Full moon equally ineffective here. But feel I could do a passable werewolf impression at the moment although probably don't need a full moon to do it

KatieChooChoo · 14/02/2014 20:57

Lemon thats funny about the werewolf, think I could join in too right about now.

My back ache is still present and im feeling a lot of moving pressure below. We have 3 hours left for a valentine baby so long as labour is rapid. I live in hope! But on the plus side, any child born after midnight will be privy to half price teddies and chocolates - every cloud and all that lol.

Labour vibes everyone xx

Madallie · 15/02/2014 05:17

Morning all. Just a quick note to say, baby Mad was born last night at 9.05pm. No name yet. Contractions continued all day, often still irregular. Went to hospital at about 5 pm, active labour at 7.30pm, baby born in pool at 9.05. We are all doing well.

I really really am sending you all positive labour vibes. I hope to hear very soon of your wonderful little ones being born. Really won't be long now. Smile

Madallie · 15/02/2014 05:20

Ps. All that pregnancy insomnia! Now I can't sleep cos of excitement and adrenalin. Grin.
Totally worth it though.

PastaandCheese · 15/02/2014 06:50

Well done Madallie that's great news. Well done. ThanksThanksThanks

Did you have a boy or a girl?

Madallie · 15/02/2014 07:16

Oh yeah, sorry to omit that important detail. We had a beautiful daughter.

How are you doing pasta? And everyone else? Any other late Valentine's Day starters?

PastaandCheese · 15/02/2014 07:24

Lovely. Girls are ace although I don't have a DS so I suspect they are equally ace!

Hope all was straightforward but it sounds as though it was. I bet you're snuggling whilst mumsnetting...... Jealous! Mind you DD is giving me a nice cuddle and I'm sniffing her hair in the hope it releases oxytocin to start labour and because it's nice. She smells of coconut shampoo and not at all like a newborn.

I'm ok apart from feeling like my pelvis is going to break into pieces after sleeping funny on my hip. Pretty sure that isn't related to labour though.

Going out with friends to distract myself.

BabyNumber02 · 15/02/2014 08:52

Congratulations madallie. That's lovely news. So glad it went so quick for you.

How many of us are there left now?!

I've has no symptoms since Thursday so definitely need some labour vibes sending this way!!

Izzyalex · 15/02/2014 09:54

Congratulations madallie xx enjoy new baby snuggles for all of us!

I've finished work now and 10 days to due date, ready for him to arrive now. No symptoms though really ;( only discomfort at night and backache

KatieChooChoo · 15/02/2014 10:09

Congratulations Madellie, wishing you and your dd health and happieness.. So lovely that she should share her day with cupid. So pleased i all happened naturally for you and you didn't have to have an induction.

My back ache has eased up and ive no other 'signs' that labour is immanent. 40+3 now.
Not even got dull period pains Sad: Sad
But today (im sorry to be so descriptive) i have a very sore Virgina. It feels like ive been over drying it but i haven't. It started a few days ago so i started to pat dry, today its really sore, to the point where if i had to push today I swear smoke would appear followed by flames. Anyone else experienced this????

Pasta, any signs for you? Enjoy your day out. Where you get your energy from amazes me, ive none at all.

Babynumber2, how are you doing? any cramps? back ache?

Welcome Izzyalex to the waiting thread filled with mostly moaning over due women with a few lovely news feeds of safe deliveries and healthy bambinos.
Most of us joined at your stage, so we totally understand that you'll be ready for your arrival. Hope all is going well.

Wishing you all rapid labour vibes girls.

Izzyalex · 15/02/2014 10:14

Thanks katiechoochoo

My home birth pool arrived yesterday! Want to set it up and try out but dd1 is with her dad this weekend so prob should wait till she's back - she's wants a go in it!

BabyNumber02 · 15/02/2014 12:49

Hi katie, no signs for me unfortunately and also 3 days over. Feeling very sorry for myself. At the hospital yesterday they said on 2 fifths of the baby's head is palpable so I was hoping something would happen soon. It feels like it as I'm getting lots of shooting pains.

Re sore vagina, I think hormones and other changes at this stage will cause all sorts of symptoms just when you don't need them! I had a really nasty urinary tract infection at the beginning of last week and ended up with thrush from the antibiotics. I was gutted as I thought how could I give birth?! I went to boots and they refused to give me any canesten because I'm pregnant! Ridiculous. I had to send my other half in to get me some.

Welcome izzyalex!

KatieChooChoo · 15/02/2014 14:04

Thats just what you dont need, thrush at a time like this. You'd think mother nature would be a bit more considerate to us wouldnt you.... tut tut.
Im plying sudacrem on at the minute.

Curry in on the menu tonight (i hate spicy food but its worth a try) and once it stops raining im going for a walk. I'll try anything right now but not that thing that put us in this state in the first place (thought of it makes my eyes water right now). Sceptical: Hmm

PastaandCheese · 15/02/2014 18:55

Hello izzyalex. Moaning and complaining is encouraged here.

katie if I don't carry on I get despondent and miserable about it all and resign myself to going two weeks over. Did have a nice lunch and was thoroughly distracted.

Babysitter tonight so we're out to dinner except I am not sure if any of my nicer maternity clothes fit. I may have to wear my pyjamas which would ruin the ambience.

Hoping I have tempted fete by booking somewhere. I might go into labour just as we get in the car.....?

babyno2 Boots wouldn't sell me a packet of ibuprofen to keep in the cupboard for DH last time. I was interrogated and treated like a child / criminal. Hmm

PastaandCheese · 15/02/2014 18:57

I know we had a baby last night from madallie but I think we should have another tonight.

Loads of babies are born at weekends aren't they??

KoalaFace · 15/02/2014 21:09

Hello! I've been lurking/watching this thread all week so I feel like I know you all already!

Congratulations to all you ladies who have had your lovely babies already! Thanks

I'm due on Monday with DC2 but have been having contractions/painful BH on and off since Wednes. I'm absolutely exhausted and quite frustrated now.

I was wondering if anyone else gets confused between contractions and painful baby movements?

BabyNumber02 · 15/02/2014 21:29

Welcome koalaface. I have no idea what I'm looking for anymore. Sometimes I think I can even create pains and contraction like symptoms by thinking about them...

katie completely agree with you with regard to the act which got us into this situation. I really don't think I could physically manage it, much to other half's disappointment.

And pasta what has got into Boots? I didn't have any hassle last time I was pregnant. I couldn't believe it. And I didn't even tell her it was for me! Enjoy your night out.

PastaandCheese · 16/02/2014 07:13

Hello Koalaface. I can turn anything into a symptom if I'm in the mood and not despairing that the baby will never come so I suspect I don't have good judgement regarding the question 'what is an actual contraction.'

Nice night out and I made an effort to look nice. I did comment to DH that he was to ensure I wiped my face if u went into labour. My 'smokey eyes' would have looked ridiculous sweating down my face as I gave birth but alas it was a unnecessary worry!

I tried a tiny glass of red wine to see if it helped and all I can say is the woman at the next table and the waiter must work for Boots as they both scowled at me. Sadly that only made me want a double vodka just to be obtuse but I dutifully stuck to one small glass.

DH and I took a cup of tea to bed and just ignored the question of should we try sex to evict the baby that obviously hung in the air. We're rock and roll through and through. I think he's as unwilling as me at this point in case I moan about my hips halfway through.

BabyNumber02 · 16/02/2014 11:05

Can't stand judgemental people. I bet none of them had kids either!

I'm still waiting, 4 days overdue. Went 6 days over last time so surely I can't go longer than that?!

I've woke up this morning feeling like the ligaments in my lower stomach are going to tear open and out will drop the baby. I'm not sure how much my body can take of the huge overhang of my belly. You would think it would just give up and go into labour. Apart from the odd cramp and constantly needing the toilet there are no signs.

How is everyone else doing?

KoalaFace · 16/02/2014 12:34

Haha it looks like I'm just asking the wrong crowd these questions as we're all in the same slow moving boat!

The Tesco pharmacist wouldn't give me Canestan when I was suffering horrifcally while pregnant with DS. Had to wait over 24 hours to see a Dr and get it prescribed! I was sobbing. I even asked MIL to pop out and get me some and explained why I couldn't get it myself. She of course said to them "my pregnant daughter in law has thrush." So obviously that was never going to work. The yogurt she brought me did sweet FA to help!

Had a glass of wine on Friday night while bouncing on the Birthing Ball. Had no wine for over a year (I miscarried at 12 weeks and then fell pregnant again straight away) so I felt drunk and ill but it didn't help. If someone had been all judgemental about it I'd have been livid!

My due date is tomorrow, I hope I don't go very overdue. Was induced last time and it was fine but I'd much rather go naturally!

KatieChooChoo · 16/02/2014 13:42

Hello ladies.

Welcome Koala.

Glad you had a nice night Pasta and hope you enjoyed your glass of red. The pregnancy police haven't got a clue have they! Stuff them.

I thought - in fact I still think, my waters have trickled his morning. My pants were soaked but not drenched (if you can understand the difference). I put a pad on to monitor and its been bone dry ever since. Very dull pains, hardly worth even moaning about....... yep, i just said ''Hardly. Worth. Moaning. About!''
Thats probably because im that far into being pissed off with hearing
myself moan about being fed up, uncomfortable, searching for signs and so on.
We are out for my nieces birthday lunch today, im hoping the same as Pasts, that we'll get half way round the ring road and rapid labour will start!!
Im in the mood for half larger - I know, rock and roll or what? I think i'll partake. Im also in the mood for a cig, but seeing as ive come this far without a nasty stick i'll carry on without them. But i must say the non smoking hasnt bothered me until the passed few days. Anyone else an ex-smoker?

Disappointed there were no bundles delivered yesterday.Push Push Push everyone and lets remember that each pissed off moment, nonsensical sign and uncomfortable pain is a moment closer to giving birth.... Yes, i fill myself with joy too Sceptical: Hmm

PastaandCheese · 16/02/2014 17:11

I know. I get even bore myself now! This is why you should be given a date and that's it. None of this waiting.

Try laying down for an hour katie and see if anything gushes out when you stand up?

KatieChooChoo · 17/02/2014 09:28

Morning fellow pregnant ladies.
Any babies born yesterday or over night?
My water situation is no different than yesterday.
Im now 5 days over, with my DS he was born by now.

Hope you're all well and gearing up for a pleasant labour.
xx

KatieChooChoo · 17/02/2014 11:32

Ive just been speaking to a friend. I told her I recall the sweep hurting with my ds and that i might give it a miss and wait till the induction - thats if the baby is a no show !
My friend has said she would rather a sweep than induction. What are your thoughts?????
