Is it true 2nd babies weigh more?

Did your second weigh more, what was the weight difference for the two??

My second was nearly a pound lighter.

My second was 1lb heavier. My friend gave birth yesterday and her second was 2lbs heavier!

DC1, 40+6 - 6lb 15.5oz

DC2, 39+5 - 7lb 2oz

A lb lighter. But it was a girl and my first a boy.

My second was almost 2lbs heavier, both girls and born within days of due date.

My first was a girl, 9lb 2oz
Second, a boy 8lb 15oz

But he was born at 10 days earlier gestation.

there was only 2oz difference between dd and ds

My second was 2lb 2oz heavier than my first (8lb6 & 10lb8)

My second weighed about 1.5lbs less than my first. Third weighed the same as the second, despite being a month early.

DS1 - 6lb 5oz

DS2 - 8lb 8oz

Dd was 7lb 8 oz at 34 weeks
Ds was 6 lb at 38 weeks

My 1st was 5lbs 3ozs, my 2nd 7lbs 12ozs, but DS1 was 8 weeks early and DS2 born at 38 weeks. DS1 was on the 98th centile, DS2 on the 53rd.

DC2 born 8 days after due date - 9 lbs 2oz

Nope, nearly a pound lighter. And more overdue.

Consultant and Midwife have told me that second babies tend to be bigger. Don't know if this is scientific but DS2 is currently measuring much bigger for dates than DS1 - I am 28 weeks and DS1 was over 9lbs.

Not always. DD1 was 8lbs 7.5 oz and was 57cms long. DD2 was 8lbs 3.5 oz and was 54cms long.

DS1 6lb 9.5
DS2 8lb 6.

Ds1 was born at 37+3 and ds2 was 40+6

DS1: 7lb 5oz (36.5 weeks)
DS2: 2lb 12oz (27 weeks)
DD: 8lb 13 oz (41.5 weeks)

All different.

I hope not!

My first was 9lb 6oz!

DS was 6 lb 1 oz at 38+3
DD was 7lb 11oz at 40+4

Mine got smaller, but also earlier - thank goodness!!

Dd1 - 4 days early - 9lb12oz
Ds - 10 days early - 9lb3oz
Dd2 - induced at 36+6 - 7lb15oz.

I'm quite glad none of them went to the full 4 weeks, let alone beyond!!

DS1 - 8lb4oz

DS2 - 6lb13oz

So much easier having a bigger baby first - I barely felt DS2 coming out in comparison :)

1st 8lb 3oz at 40+1
2nd 10lb 3oz at 40+11
3rd 11lb 8oz at 40+10

I'm not having any more!
