Is it true 2nd babies weigh more?

Did your second weigh more, what was the weight difference for the two??

My girls were born at same gestation and Dd2 was 5oz lighter. Everyone else I know had bigger babies second time around.

Dd2 8lb 8oz and a total chunk now.

DD3, the 11lb8oz monster was actually the most straighforward birth of the three!

Not true for me, mine were the same weight

No, DS1 was 7 lb 11 oz and DS2 one day earlier and 7lb 5 oz. DC3 much smaller but prem.

DC2 was a whole pound lighter.

Second more than a pound lighter and came out rather quickly.

DS1 39+1 7lbs 11ozs
DS2 37+5 6lbs 13ozs, had to have a growth scan as was measuring big, but all was fine and consultant wrote a snotty comment to the midwife in my notes

Dc1 38+2. 6lb 11oz
Dc2 40+4 7lb 4.5oz
Currently 40+3 with dc3 and hoping for another 7lber but have v large bump...

6lb2 and 6lb6 (39 and 39+5)

First 2 were exactly the same weight even with DC1 being 10d overdue & DC2 arriving on due date.
DC3 was on due date too & 4oz heavier.

Second one was a pound heavier. But he was over three weeks later.

Surely it is more to do with head circumference than weight though for ease of birthing?!
