fast. 1hr45 mins.

I felt really in control, knew what to do...it was a great experience.

PacificDogwood · 28/10/2013 19:55

Great.

My first VBAC.
Quite fast, but really enjoyable.

Good luck Smile

PacificDogwood · 28/10/2013 19:56

Oh, 10 days late.
No painrelief other than G+A.
'Twas great

Clobbered · 28/10/2013 19:57

1st - fine, 2nd - too fast, very painful, 3rd - induced, epidural, easy delivery. I too felt much more in control - discovered I could control contractions! Piece of cake, you'll be fine!

bundaberg · 28/10/2013 20:00

I also had a horrid first one and a good second one Grin

third was a week over.

woke up just before 3am having this immensely painful contraction. went to the toilet, had another on the way back.
was holding ds3 48 mins later

it was VERY intense. it felt more painful than ds2's birth although it probably wasn't, it just had no slow build-up.. just straight in there with these very strong contractions.
was a planned homebirth but we ended up needing to ring an ambulance., He was born before they got there!

gintastic · 28/10/2013 20:02

Fast. I was induced as she went over, but barely a sniff of the pitocin and she was done and dusted in 45min. We went in at 8am for the induction and were home by 8pm, takeaway curry arrived 8.15 as DH ordered it while we were en route.

G&A for pain relief only, and the second midwife managed to race into the room with only one glove on to help catch, madam was in such a hurry Grin

RandomMess · 28/10/2013 20:02

I was induced for all 4 deliveries, what I found that varied was how long to get me into established labour (which actually depended on how overdue I was) but each labour in terms of established labour to delivery got faster and faster!!

RandomMess · 28/10/2013 20:03

Actually my over riding memory with #3 and #4 was that my body was doing the pushing all by itself!

LaydeeJayne · 28/10/2013 20:11

Similar to clobbered here. Horrible 23 hour marathon with 1st, 2nd was induced - 1 hour 45 mins, mega painful and out of control, 3rd also induced - 1 hour 25 mins, lovely, smooth, calm and completely in control to the very end. Wish they could have all been like that! Best of luck tomorrow.

Frecklesandspecs · 28/10/2013 20:16

Very fast. Woke up at 4:40 and ds was born at 5:30. Made it to hospital 9 minutes before!

Mumof3xx · 28/10/2013 20:20

First and second were days of slow labour then 12 hours full labour

Third was 5 hours.

Woooo!

Frecklesandspecs · 28/10/2013 20:21

Oh its only my due date tomorrow. not being induced yet but no signs yet apart really heavy pressure down there.

1st came at 39+4
2nd 40+3 after sweep.

I really hope I won't be waiting much longer though.

happynappies · 28/10/2013 20:32

My first and second were long... 32 hours, then 28 hours, so expected third to be pretty similar. Had a few niggles in the afternoon, decided to go and be checked over after getting 2 dcs to bed (as I had GroupB strep and they wanted me to take antibiotics as soon as I was in active labour). They examined me and said I wasn't in active labour, go home, paracetamol, bath etc. By the time we were back home (half an hour drive) I was telling dh we were going back. He was telling me to get in the bath, and was getting in to bed himself... My waters broke, and dd was born within the hour. Cue mad dash to hospital, thinking she was going to be born on the motorway... Dh standing in carpark asking which of the bags/pillows/birthing ball etc I needed and me screaming 'just get me in there'. Totally unexpected. I almost forgot to take my jeans and pants off!! Good luck though, am sure all will be well!

SpikeHairandFab · 28/10/2013 20:37

First very traumatic , very long, took me 8 years to start thinking about second,
then 2nd very easy, contractions started at 8pm , admited to hospital at 1 am , water birth , baby born at 4.39am
3rd very Quick, an hour and half contractions then 8 minutes of pushing , G&A for pain relief . You will be fine, good luck x

Frecklesandspecs · 28/10/2013 20:38

ha I enjoyed that happynappy!
woo mumof3 we agree on most things so maybe mine Will be similar;-)

My worst thought during my third was during transition when I said to my doula, completely drug and G&A free, 'This is a bit rubbish'..

It hurt a bit more than my second, but the pain bothered me a lot less than my second. I was more geared up for just getting on with it.

Mumof3xx · 28/10/2013 20:44

We do!
After dc 3 was born I was amazed, I felt so healthy and not drugged up lol
Think it also helped I had a full nights sleep before that labour, other were days of slow labour then full labour from early hours

StarlightMcKenzie · 28/10/2013 20:45

If you're having a Homebirth, let the MWs know you're in labour early.

I was still denying being in labour 45 mins before the birth and nearly had a bba.

StarlightMcKenzie · 28/10/2013 20:46

And yes, 3rd was 5 hours, though I ignored the first 3.

Frecklesandspecs · 29/10/2013 06:20

its a hospital birth starlight but I was in denial about being in labour for a while with 2. Looks as if my due date has come and Will go as still nothing :-(
I found a big difference in how I felt after 1 and 2. I think I Will defo be having some gas though again this time. I think midwife thought he was back to back again last appt.

3rd baby- Easy and quick!
1st baby- arrived early, great labour.
2nd baby- arrived on due date, awful pro longed labour.

Iheartcustardcreams · 29/10/2013 06:30

Very quick. My worst birth. Very painful and because of the speed my body wasn't prepared. Big baby. 3lbs bigger than my second, 2lbs bigger than first; all born just after 40 weeks. But my first two birth were good. Good luck

Frecklesandspecs · 29/10/2013 06:35

oh custard you spoilt the nice easy birth thread!

MikeLitorisBites · 29/10/2013 07:24

Another easy 3rd here. Although she was 13 days past the due date.

Felt much calmer especially through transition. I knew it meant she was close.

Bit of gas and air into the pool and she was born in one push. I delivered her myself. Just reached down and helped her out. It was about 3 hours from thinking 'this is it' to holding her. 9 minute's after waters breaking.

I had one VE on arrival and then no one laid a hand on me until she was out. I loved it . Not enough to have a fourth mind! Grin
