No plug or waters until just before giving birth for my 3rd; niggles started in the afternoon baby born in the early eve so don't worry it doesn't necessarily mean you have ages to wait! With my first I had plug and contractions on the monday but didn't give birth until Thursday! How many days over are you now?

Frecklesandspecs · 31/10/2013 20:04

Thankyou giraffe. just 3 days overdue but it just seems so much longer. Really been struggling since about 39 weeks as I have the 2 and 4 year old being a nightmare atm! I'm so grumpy and tired!

I didn't loose plug or waters with any of my 3 until in hospital, waters have always had to be broken for me and I never saw any plug

Hang on in there freckles I feel your pain having 2 dc to look after while being heavily pregnant it isn't nice!

This thread has really cheered me up.
DC1 was born 16 days late by emcs - terrible. Back to back. Went in for induction on Saturday and they finally dragged him out via emcs on Tuesday!
DC2 was a wonderful VBAC. Waters broke following sweep at 40+3. Early contractions started 6 hours later at about midnight. By 4.30am the had ramped up so I went for bath whilst dh phoned hospital (had been told to let them know sooner as VBAC) DD was born at 10.07am. Just Gas and Air.
So, finger crossed this one will follow the trend of this thread!

Mumof3xx · 01/11/2013 09:20

Fingers crossed freckles! I've never gotten to the point of needing a sweep thank god!

morethanmama · 01/11/2013 09:24

Took dd to school. Has twinge so took ds to childminder. Went straight to hospital had dc half an hour later. Dh collected dd from school and picked me up on the way home!

My best labour. I felt really in control and knew how to respond to my body. No pain relief at all (it was quick though!). I breathed him out and no tears!!

I did school run on day 3 - felt great! (Now is a different matter as sleepless nights catch up on me!!)

you sound like super mama!

This is very interesting reading. DC1 was a section for breech and DS2 was a very successful VBAC in only 6.5hrs. Am 40+2 with DC3 and been having odd aches and pains for a few days and lots of plug/discharge. Declined a sweep today as we're barely over yet and I'd like to let nature take it's course as much as possible.

Thing is, with my previous two births I felt the contractions in my lower back - nothing around my bump at all. I'm not sure what these sensations on my bump are. It goes all tight-feeling, sometimes tight enough to leave me a bit breathless. They're not painful (yet!) so I don't know if it's just baby moving about or what?! Confused

giraffeseatpineapples · 01/11/2013 17:59

School run on day 3 here too - I was dosed up on Ibuprofen though!

Squitten - could just be normal twinges orrrr da da da ....labour Grin

Sounds like your previous labours started of back to back and maybe this time the baby is in the proper position ... fingers crossed Smile

giraffeseatpineapples · 04/11/2013 13:23

Any babies yet? Smile

Frecklesandspecs · 04/11/2013 18:26

Maybe try a really brisk and determined walk in the morning! Both my dds were 10 days over, I think I had quite a few this might be our last chance before the baby comes meals out ...

Frecklesandspecs · 06/11/2013 12:10

well sweep worked!
contractions started about 1am sent home as cervix still only 2cm dilated and midwife didn't think I was in labour. Sent home about 4 am.

got home. v painful contrax. tried to stay as long as I could but went back in at 7Amish.
could barely walk to door. husband nicked a wheelchair and I was wanting to push as he wheeled me to labour ward.
gave birth at 7.20am just managed to get inside the room!

now on postnatal having a wee rest!! x
