I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything but it's my first definite sign after months of braxton hicks & it's got me all nervous & jittery & excited! Grin

I've left DH to sleep for now, although I may be getting contractions so I might have to wake him up soon! This is DS2 & will hopefully be born at home. DS1 is 19m & his labour was 8 hours from definite, regular contractions to him appearing so I'm not expecting this to be a long labour.

Someone come chat to me?

Sorry for going AWOL! All got a bit... Dramatic! My waters went at about 12 & were brown so we got on the phone, sorted emergency childcare & were planning to head in when the contractions ramped up. Called an ambulance & the community midwives because I was getting pushing feelings. I eventually relented my 'no internals' only to be told I was only 7cm & the cervix was still quite thick. They insisted we had time to get to the hosp - a 7ish minute drive. We didn't... DS2 was born in the ambulance at 2.15! I've had a few stitches for a 2nd degree tear & they want to keep us in for 12hrs of obs, just to be safe.

All ok though. He was 6lb 14oz but has fed to sleep & is now sucking his thumb & having cuddles with DH while I have tea & toast! Smile

Big congratulations!

What will the place of birth be on his birth certificate? Back of ambulance?!

Librarina · 09/06/2013 21:19

Ooooooh, congratulations, sounds dramatic but manageable, well done xx

StitchAteMySleep · 09/06/2013 22:00

Glad it all went well.

I was told by lovely ambulance lady who bluelighted me in when in labour with dd2 that she gave birth on the way in to hospital with her dc2 and the birth certificate stated the road they stopped on when she gave birth.

MsInterpret · 10/06/2013 02:12

Congratulations!

Welcome, little one Smile

Jojobump1986 · 10/06/2013 19:19

Really stitch? That's exciting! DS1's birthplace is our address as he was a homebirth but we were wondering what DS2's would be! I was v disappointed to think that it might be the hospital... That's just too normal! Grin I think a dramatic entrance like that deserves an official record! I wonder what other odd places there are that I could give birth in if we have any more...!

We're home now & doing ok. DS1 is struggling to adapt a little but I think that could be because he's had a great time with my parents & is fed up to be back home! DS2 is feeding & sleeping well - can't ask for much more than that at 1 day old! Smile
