I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything but it's my first definite sign after months of braxton hicks & it's got me all nervous & jittery & excited! Grin

I've left DH to sleep for now, although I may be getting contractions so I might have to wake him up soon! This is DS2 & will hopefully be born at home. DS1 is 19m & his labour was 8 hours from definite, regular contractions to him appearing so I'm not expecting this to be a long labour.

Someone come chat to me?

Oda part of me is hoping it does happen really quickly & we can go to church, just to freak people out... "How old is he?" "Oh, nearly an hour now..." Grin

Contractions still averaging about 4 minutes apart, lasting 30-40s...

Could just imagine their faces Jojo. Hope you're feeling ok

OdaBear · 09/06/2013 08:41

Jojo that would be hilarious to rock up at church with brand spanking new baby!

Do you have a pool? Contractions sound very positive. Is it feeling like last time or more manageable this time?

Jojobump1986 · 09/06/2013 09:17

No pool - I have a thing about getting water on my face! Don't need to be worrying about that while contracting!

Contractions are now slightly less frequent at about 4.5m but lasting 40+s & stronger. The contractions don't bother me pain-wise... The GI issues are causing more pain! It's making me hungry but every time I eat/drink it goes straight through me & hurts! Feeling a bit sick too! Sad

It's good to have a proper clear out now though. Then you can really push with some welly later on.

OdaBear · 09/06/2013 09:23

Oh no - well just try and keep small amounts down. Maybe some sugary drinks to keep your energy levels up. Good progress that the contractions and longer and stronger now. And yes, you don't want to be worrying about water on your face while delivering a baby! Have you decided on a name, or are you going to wait to meet him? (I don't expect you to reveal names on here, just curious!).

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 09/06/2013 09:32

Darn it jojo, I forget to charge my phone and you go into labour.

COME ON BABY!

Jojobump1986 · 09/06/2013 09:33

We have a name. Had terrible trouble choosing DS1s name because I was convinced he just looked like 'him' & therefore couldn't have the same name as anyone else! We decided on a name in advance this time so I could get used to it!

Ooh jojo I'm so excited for you.

Jojobump1986 · 09/06/2013 09:53

Thanks Frus! Grin

I've stopped timing contractions now. Don't want them to take over my brain before necessary. I'm distracting myself by singing along to my CD & giggling at DH reading books with DS1. Just trying to ignore any contractions. My body can do what it wants but I'm going to enjoy being a mum of one for just a little bit longer! Smile

I'm making myself eat dry crackers & drink water. Can't face the thought of sugary things! Definitely making a point of drinking plenty - I had a small pph last time that they said could've been because I was quite dehydrated!

Lorelei353 · 09/06/2013 10:02

Sounds like a good plan. The contractions will take over your thoughts etc soon enough so carry on as normal as you can for now and definitely stay hydrated.

Librarina · 09/06/2013 10:23

Have you made your post natal tea bath yet?

My friend says 'Shake them apples' to get hormones and things moving around your body....might be fun to try!

OdaBear · 09/06/2013 10:31

Hope it is all going well Jojo...

Locketjuice · 09/06/2013 10:38

Ohhhh how exciting! Good luck JoJo! Hope everything is progressing nicely Smile

Jojobump1986 · 09/06/2013 10:46

Bath tea is brewing! Got another couple of hours to go before it's ready.

Nothing exciting to report. Contractions happening occasionally, still losing lots of bloody mucus, bottom stinging... The worst of that seems to be over though! DS1 has been loving having DH pay so much attention to him but now DH has decided to go cook dinner so we can just warm it up later so I'm watching DS1 roll a ball around the room & read books! Doesn't look like we'll make it to church with a newborn! Toddler group tomorrow though so everyone can coo over him then... He will be here by then!

Your son sounds like a very lovely, patient boy! My son goes mad if I go and make a cup of tea - so defo no home birth for us this time!

Your hubby also sounds lovely getting dinner sorted... A nice home made meal will be just the ticket at the end of the day I'm sure.

Keep up the good work!

FattyMcChubster · 09/06/2013 13:00

Hope all's going well jojo

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 09/06/2013 13:09

I'm hoping by the silence that all is well and you're either pushing or enjoying newborn cuddles.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 09/06/2013 13:15

PUUUUUUUUUUUUUSH Jojo

StitchAteMySleep · 09/06/2013 13:26

Aw good luck jojo. All happened quite quickly from 4 minute contractions with my second so hoping you are nearly there and will soon be holding a lovely squishy newborn.

MsInterpret · 09/06/2013 14:14

Go JoJo, go JoJo, go!

bringonthetrumpets · 09/06/2013 15:10

Just saw this! Yay jo! Thinking of contracting thoughts for you today!

Newborn at toddler playgroup tomorrow?

FattyMcChubster · 09/06/2013 15:52

Well there's no one that far gone at my playgroup so I'm quite Envy I won't get to sniff a brand new baby.

How's it going jojo?
